Ex-Spurs Player Harry Winks

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Looks like the move to Italy did him wonders. We might actually be able to move him this summer.

Sampdoria still lost the game and look destined for relegation. Not Winks fault he is actually a very good player but not a defensive midfielder. I know for a fact that some of the mistakes Bentancur makes were done by Winks everyone would not stop critcising them. If he was not injured last summer I am pretty sure a Premier League club like Brighton would have taken the risk on him or maybe Leeds because he is a better player than Adams.

don't really get the hate for him, a local academy player who wanted to remain at his childhood club that his family also support. Good for him that he's playing well in Italy, Parker was worshipped and played with a similar style, although to a higher level. I think we've moved on now, but I hope his fine form continues

No one hates Winks.
We hate that he's not good enough for us, and it was painfully obvious for a long, long time, but some fans just can't see it.
Well done to him for going abroad and playing. But under no circumstances should he come back and play for Spurs again. This is shop window stuff, not game time to come back to Spurs.

The ONLY reason to move him on is "IF" we stick with Conte or go with another manager that has us set up to play without the ball. But he is a woeful fit for a Spurs team that plays without the ball (I am aware that Samp didn't - re this clip/game and don't usually boss the possession stats but there is a difference between Serie A and Prem that can be seen in this clip, Lazio aren't pressing that aggressively, whereas this tends not to be the case in PL).

In a possession dominant team, he's absolutely fine, in fact, he's a perfect fit. We aren't a possession dominant team and haven't been since Poch left (Poch last season we didn't boss the possession stats).

I'm not Conte out but I can't wait to see Tottenham play with the ball again.

Nah, even in a possession based team he's not able to take on the defensive workload. He needs to go permanently to a lower intensity league, like Italy.

Oh come now - how about the San Marino scouts league - you can drop lower than Serie A to justify your bias and ignorance.

The league where the current European champions get their players from.

This thread is turning into a complete comedy now. Winks gets fit, and starts to play in a team that employs him for his strengths, and all the bellends that have been calling him shite all have to start making up even more bollocks to explain why they were right to vilify him - without ever seeing just how transparent and cringeworthy it is to read.

I haven't been calling him shite have I? What I'm saying is, that after watching him for years, he's not good enough without the ball to play in a high intensity league like the PL. We've seen what that looks like. He's having similar issues in Italy, but it's not as pronounced, because playing there fit his strengths better.

no offence to to the guy

He is like our Mark Noble
Jim Carrey Omg GIF

If he came back, what are the chances of him playing above any of our MFs? None. Zero. All of ours are superior, so why would we want him back? Shall we go and grab Sissoko back for a tenner while we’re about it

“But he’s home grown and one our own!” So’s Eric Dier’s tomatoes, but I don’t want to see them playing in a double pivot.

He’s clearly thriving there. Sell him to them. It works out for everybody. We’re happy; he’s happy.
