He kept getting asked to play a role/position he's ill suited for, by managers that didn't understand where his strengths lay.
I guess he's like most people who are asked to carry out tasks at work, that they didn't sign up for - and that struggling to fulfil a position that doesn't suit him, he didn't perform with the same enthusiasm as he would when given the role he excels at.
I don't think he's a world beater, and I know there are better players that we could recruit that would keep him, even at his best, out of the team.
The trouble with the mongrels that post bilious and vitriolic condemnations of the guy, is that to actually admit that he can play, simply shows them up to be the ignoramuses that they are, and on top of it, the piss poor supporters that have proven themselves to be.
Hilariously - I have become the target of a determined hate campaign from baz the waz - because I made jokes about Sissoko's ineptitude when he started at Spurs. I made fun of his footballing mistakes, not of him as a person, or a footballer - and when I eulogised him when he stepped up and put in some excellent performances - got accused of being a hypocrite.
I don't get why the board puts up with posters who have nothing but insults and venom to offer about our players, as if Spurs only deserved to have a team of global greats out there for every game. Having the toxic twittersphere on here just drags the place down.
cue - happy clapper, I demand a higher standard, you're happy to watch crap and I'm not etc etc
