White has been training with the first team and was on the bench for 3 EPL games.

Born: 19 September 2001 (Maidstone, England)

Central midfielder Harvey White was born in Maidstone and attended The Holmesdale School.

A keen cricketer in school, he was a regular for our Under-16s in 2017/18, scoring eight goals, while stepping up to feature once for the Under-18s.

During 2018/19, he scored six goals in 15 Under-18 Premier League appearances to help us finish second in that division - his tally included the first ever penalty to be scored at the new stadium as our youngsters beat Southampton 3-1 in a Test Event match there in March, 2019. A dead ball specialist who also filled in at left-back and centre-half during that eventful campaign, he scored once in three Under-18 Premier League Cup games and played twice in the FA Youth Cup at Millwall and Woolwich.

In September, 2018, he scored from the spot as our Under-17s beat Galatasaray in the final of the Euro Youth Cup in St Wendel, Germany.

Harvey featured in all but one of our eight UEFA Youth League matches in 2018/19 and played seven times in all competitions for our Development Squad. That included five showings in the Premier League 2, where he played at left-back in the last two games of the season, helping us secure back-to-back wins against Swansea and Derby to avoid relegation. He also scored a late free-kick at Portsmouth on his EFL Trophy debut in November, 2018.

In July, 2019, he made his senior debut at left-back during our pre-season tour of Asia.

Here's Gold's opinion:

Harvey White

Harvey has been training with the first team and has been a regular feature with the squad since the restart.

The 18-year-old central midfielder has impressed Mourinho with his versatility and he was involved in the training matches, including the one against Norwich, ahead of the restart.

The Portuguese has since put him on the bench in the Premier League three times, for the games against Manchester United, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

It has topped off a busy season for White, who made 29 appearances this season, turning out for the U23s, U19s and and at times the U18s, chipping in with seven goals and four assists.

White caught the eye of Pochettino in the summer, showing that versatility by playing at left-back against Juventus and Manchester United during the tour to Asia.

He returned to play with the U23s and he's been a leading light for them this campaign, playing mostly in midfield but also doing a job at left-back at times.

White can sit in a deeper role or help link up with the attacking players and his set-piece ability catches the eye. His corners are consistently dangerous and he's always a threat from free-kicks, having scored with some top drawer strikes in recent years.

He could take advantage of Skipp's loan move to get game time in the cup competitions especially next season.

Pleased to see JM has already said he will be joining first team squad next season.

Decent option as DM - adding his skills as one of the best at FK's and corners to come through the academy in the last decade or so.

Played at both DM and LB in preseason 2019.....and as u16 played AM whilst to play Barcelona in UEFA Youth League was brought in to play CB for his skill on the ball, leading to a Spurs bearting Barcelona. So he's versatile.

Could be a bit like our JWP then?

Not really a world beater and never will be, but hard working, versatile and can be very dangerous with his set pieces.

Jose bringing through another unknown academy kid.
Tanganga and Skipp given the green light but remains to be seen if Parrott will make it.
Did we bring back Clarke?

I hope he is a player that can influence games be it tough tackling, creative or goal scoring. We do seem to have a habit of late of producing 'neat and tidy'midfielders that aren't defensive, aren't that creative and don't score goals.

The only reason they've even got Harvy White in the first team set up, is so he can have Harry Winks' old training gear hand me downs... and they don't have to get a new set of initials sewn on...
Fucking tight arses! :levywhoa:

Why do you think we signed Ndombele?? 'Cos we had loads of leftover 'N's D's, O's, M's, B's L's & E's left in the club shop after Dembele, N'Jie and N'Koudo left!!!

Thought it was time for a thread after appearances in the 3 pre-season friendlies (v Ipswich, Reading and Birmingham) so far - and with JM having already confirmed that White and Cirkin will be part of the Spurs first team squad in 2020-21.

This is 2nd pre-season - he made a number of appearances in pre-season 2019 under Poch, playing in both Left back and central midfield positions.

As an u16 White played as an AM but as a DM in Spurs u18's, with appearances at LB, and to play Barcelona u19's became a CB for the match - chosen for his abilities on the ball as well as defensive abilities and looked one of the best players on the pitch who was a regular player at CB . Nothing seems to phase him, just takes everything in his stride.

Going forward I'd expect him to be mainly used as a DM, although his versatility may be put to good use when required.

A wand of a left foot, and better than most on his 'wrong' foot he's a dead ball specialist, possibly one of the best at the club, and certainly one of the best the academy has ever produced, with good progressive passing from the DM position. Remember today when his free kick was put on Dier's head ffrom around 25 yards with Dier sadlyheading wide otherwise he'd have had an assist or several long passes from the back almost putting attackers through on goal ?

Still not quite 19, so some growing up to do, but there's a lot already to like, and I'd hope he gets chances probably mainly in the League Cup and Europa League in 20/21 almost certainly mainly from the bench but a couple of starts as well - maybe a dozen or so appearances this season, but with the hectic games schedule maybe more.

Possibly a start v Watford in our last pre-season friendly given many players will be away on international duty ?

Harvey White started and played until half time today - a few nice touches from him in the match video

Really liked his performance today.

Can see him starting in the first League Cup match or two.

Nothing seems to faze him.....and we may be struggling for fit players in CM given neither Winks nor Lo Celso were available today, leaving Hojbjerg, Sissoko and a half fit Ndombele available in central midfield which is tough if playing 2 matches a week, so might even see Jamie Bowden involved too

First half nothing exceptional.
Dele was treading all over his toes in the 2nd half before he got subbed.
Watford treated it like a proper game so good experience for the kid.
Edit: His pass led to the penalty.

“This is my third pro deal. I’m still 19, so that tells me that the Club has got a lot of trust in me and that they can see a future in me. I just want to pay it back on the pitch."

“In the medium-term future, I just want to try to keep getting game time and try to keep improving, then long-term, ultimately I just want to play for Tottenham. It would be a dream come true to become a regular player here in future. I’ve been at the Club since I was six, signed at eight, so I haven’t known anything different. It would be a dream come true!”

Shame he's only had the 10 minutes of the EL match v Ludogorets so far, had hoped he would have had more playing time with a view to him taking on a role to rest Hojbjerg by coming off the bench in some matches. Still time for that in the 2nd half of the season - but if Mourhino doesn't think he will use him I'd like to see him on loan somewhere, perhaps in League 1 providing he plays, to avoid the 19 year old stagnating.

White has been able to play in many of the u23 matches this season, as well as being on bench in EL matches and training with first team this season, being involved in 6 goals this season - 3 goals and 3 assists, in 9 matches which is a decent result for a DM. Showed that side of his game in his 10 minute cameo being a tad unlucky not to score.

Delighted to see club showing him they want to keep him by giving him a new contract to 2024.
