That's what I thought. Delay it until they are 35.
still specialist privilege - if the reason for making stars go to the army is to show equality then the statement by making Son greater.

For Son to Defer its likely to have as much back lash than getting residency over here, doesn't seem like the type to me.

So pretty much 100% for it in some way then? You’d have to think the government would find a way for him then.

Nah. 'finding a way' means special exemption. Not gonna happen.
Due to several cases where celebrities exploited the laws to avoid the military service (ex. a rapper extracted 4 teeth out on purpose to avoid it), they are very strict about it now.

How likely are they to have success in the Asian Games? I could easily imagine him being released for it if they had a good chance of success.

Typical innit. The South Korean Messi hits his prime at spurs & has to go back home to stand on the border of North & South Korea for 2 years.
I understand fully the cultural importance of this but fucking hell. Ain’t that just marvellous for us Spurs fans?

I think they will make an exemption, or at least extend the age he has to do it by to his 30's. The better he plays and the more high profile he becomes, the greater the chance he will be allowed to play football.

Their attitude to national service may change in the event that North Korea steps back militarily/actually denukes.

We live in a world where the future of Spurs attacking threat is genuinely in the hands of Donald Trump.

Well, unless Spurs wants to lose Son for 2 years, they better let him go. Losing him for 4 matches is better than for 2 years.

Looking at the potential squad, we have a very good chance to win. One thing to note is that Korea has very good strikers but our defense is one of the worst.... Also, they recently changed the manager for the tournament. So I have no idea how good the team will be at the moment.

Every Asian team tends to park a bus against us, so it wont be easy..

Another note: we won AG for the first time in 28 years in 2014 after 1986.

Yes and we know how well Trump expertly avoided doing his
military service dont we!

Or us Spurs fans can use our voice to unite Korea in peace. You heard it here first.

As sponsored by Coca Cola?

And I can imagine the headlines. Levy could bring about world peace and an everlasting global utopia and press here would be "spurs poke nose into democratic process"

And some people on this website would wobble on about transfers
