Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

D

This window has been a fucking waste of opportunity to strengthen ourselves and compete for CL and PL.

Positives
- first choice RB upgraded
- CB cover/options upgraded
- cover CF upgraded

Negatives
-We desperately needed an injection of pace, creativity and dynamism in final 3rd. We should have signed at least one winger and AM
-failure to shift remaining deadwoods at the club like Sissoko, Janssen and Nkoudou.

Expectations this season
-finish bottom of the group in CL
-languishing in upper midtable by December.

Said it before and I'll say it again, he's better than Barkley. I dont know what Barkley is rated on other than Poch can make him something.

Ditto Winks...he already is, and we save 50M
You get the feeling that Everton wanted to sell him now but Barkley/Agents wants to run his contract down. You have to question the mentality of such a player. If he wanted to sign for us or Chavs he would have moved now.
If we have an arrangement for the Jan window brilliant but I doubt it?
There is the possibility that he failed (unusual) the medical?

You won't see the best out of Winks until his enthusiasm wades a bit. At the moment he's still buzzing about being in the first team and I look forward to when he puts his foot on the ball and instead of playing it safe starts driving it forward and playing with a bit of freedom. He's great, hard working and listens to the manager. A great foundation for a manager to develop him further.

He'll boss games when he gets to the level I think he's capable of. A great kid our academy has produced

Hard one really. Overall i'm reasonably happy with everything although i really wanted a fast paced attacking Mae type player and wanted to keep Walker although Aurier looks an excellent player.

Overall maybe a B-

Fuck off with your personal attacks.

Everyone is entitled to his own opinion. If you disagree with me that's fine but don't come here call people 'clueless' because they view things and analyse differently
But.....but....
You are clueless

If you could interpret and analyse the clues that pretty much everyone who responds to you, lays before you - you'd go and stop posting here.
But here you are, ladling your negative waves over all of us, yet again.

So by default, you are clueless.

You seem to know bugger all about what it is to support Spurs, or football in general, as well

PS
Bwahahaha
Disliked by mindless and his twin brother John Thomas.

Barkley will not cost that much with 6 months left on his contract. Take him on a free but isn't worth anywhere near 50m not even 20m. Unless he is better then what we got already then I wouldn't bother going for him...unless on a free...in which case levy will smell profit!

I think Barkley would develop well under Poch, but, fuck it, Winks is going to be the English Lothar Matthäus before the end of December. So who fucken cares ya homeless cunts? No cunt.

The window was shite. Llorente is swanning about like cock o the north. The cunt can't believe his luck. The Llorente signing is the beginning of the end for this side. But fuck it.

I'm looking forward to Erik coming back from rehab. That might be our best new signing.

Devils advocate, but really what has Winks done to be seen as the next great midfielder.
What has he got that sets him above? Dribbling, strength, passing range , goals, set piece ability chances maker?
I see a competent player, but nothing that makes me gasp. He has ability, doesn't do much wrong but he still young, learning
Let's see him actually start some games on the trot before we start claiming he's the bollocks.
It's ok coming on when everyone else is fucked. You're going to look a bit better. Remember David fairclough.
I doubt he has the presence or the ability to command a game for 90mins, yet. Otherwise he may have had more than 3 starts.
He showed his inexperience v Burnley imo.
If he did what he was instructed to do for the last minutes he would have just held the ball, distributed it safely and shielded the back four.
Don't get me wrong , he looks a good player, but all this talking him up is a bit premature.
He has a way to go.
Although I could be wrong and next summer there will be bids for £50m for him.

I WANTED PAAAAACCCCCEEEE!!!

Honestly though, I would have liked to have seen another offensive option that could add some playmaking or creativity to our side, but it would either need to be a young unproven player or would have cost a fortune to bring in someonelike that who may be able to earn a spot.

Overall, we improved the squad, kept our most important players, and still managed to turn a profit in the summer when the transfer world lost their fucking minds.

I'd give us a solid B to B+.

On the window a pretty decent one.
a RB replacement which looks crucial as Trippier is struggling. A winner who can help KWP and Trippier
A promising CB who can learn from two of the best
Another who has potential and I'd the hype is to be believed could be on the bench sooner than later. Ditto the above
A keeper.
Llorente another option who can get some goals. Another winner. Who can part some knowledge.
Yet I still, think we could have got a midfielder in the same mode.
Whether we had Barkley in mind and that's why I don't know, but I feel,we missed a chance there.
It would have been excellent with one to push the AMs
As it stands I'd say B++

Winks' talent is subtle. He's no show pony.
Think of Paul Scholes. Scholes didn't do anything attention seeking. Yet he might have been the best player in that class of 92 hypefest. I think Winks has a similar understated quality to him. Only the truly discerning supporter recognises it.

Scholes score a few goals in his first few appearances in the LC And cameo apps. Yet he got his his first proper season at 21 and scored 10 pl goals. I don't call that subtle. Edit I understand what your saying though.
Winks has ability, I can see it.
But let's see him start at least 20 PL games before we start calling him the Paul Scholes of Spurs.
I am not doubting him as a player, I just think we shouldn't get carrried away.

I am not doun
I didn't call him the Paul Scholes of Spurs.
I merely used Scholes' understated talent as a means of unpacking Winks' talent for your crude eye. You asked for help.

I think you appreciate a player in the way that computer game creators do. You think in terms of discrete attributes rather than the player as a whole. Watch Winks. Consider his entire game. He's good. That being said, unless you've played the game yourself at a decent level, you might not be able to see it.

There is still a long road ahead for Winks. Let us not forget that Ryan Mason was particularly impressive when he emerged.
