How do you grade our transfer window?

I think Barkley would develop well under Poch, but, fuck it, Winks is going to be the English Lothar Matthäus before the end of December. So who fucken cares ya homeless cunts? No cunt.

The window was shite. Llorente is swanning about like cock o the north. The cunt can't believe his luck. The Llorente signing is the beginning of the end for this side. But fuck it.

I'm looking forward to Erik coming back from rehab. That might be our best new signing.
You dour weegie bawbag! Just kidding!

You don't sound well

Scholes score a few goals in his first few appearances in the LC And cameo apps. Yet he got his his first proper season at 21 and scored 10 pl goals. I don't call that subtle. Edit I understand what your saying though.
Winks has ability, I can see it.
But let's see him start at least 20 PL games before we start calling him the Paul Scholes of Spurs.
I am not doubting him as a player, I just think we shouldn't get carrried away.

Difference being Winks can tackle while Scholes, despite being an excellent player, never could!
He was quite frankly embarrassing!

Woah there, sailor. I like Winks and think that he does everything right which is why he's so respected but he's no Paul Scholes yet.

I'm not saying that he is

Just saying that he can make a tackle while Scholes couldn't that's all!

Scholes had a lot of good qualities but tackling wasn't one of them!

Matelot

This talk about Winks being the next big thing for us, so let's not sign anyone in his position reminds me of when Arsen Wenger would justify his transfer market malaise. He'd say that he could sign a new midfielder, but it would "kill Denilson". Denilson did a pretty good job of that himself by being rubbish.

If Winks is going to be good enough for us, he should have to prove it against world class competition for his place. A few very decent cameo appearances so far suggests he may become great, but there's always a chance of regression.

Then you don't understand self deprecating humour puppy boy.
It's only self deprecating if it's a modest attempt to put down oneself to deflect praise. Calling yourself a cock simply highlights the most obvious thing about you - therefore, in your case it's self aggrandisement, boasting about your most obvious characteristic.
Which proves the point - only a complete dick head would boast about what a knob he was.
The only one of us who's confused is you, penisboy.
Ok. Mr.Cooper. Whatever.
Btw, you did realise Mick Cooper is an anagram of Prime Cock when you chose it?.

Well, nearly.

He was one of those rare players that didn't need to. He always tracked his man and blocked off the one on one duel on purpose. He was practically given the ball by opponents.

He did need to tackle properly but couldn't which was he never became a great player but he was a very good one and if Winks progresses he could well be a pivotal player for us especially under Poch!

That's all I'm saying as I've got great hopes for the lad

I could take that as a thinly veiled Gooner accusation. The ultimate insult. I'll assume otherwise though.

Perish the thought!

I could have added other descriptions of Jeremy like a Poundshop Che Guevara

Anyway I can see that you have your hands full with the biting wit of Mr Cooper

Penisboy???

:sonlol:

... I think it's been a very good one.

Devils advocate, but really what has Winks done to be seen as the next great midfielder.
What has he got that sets him above? Dribbling, strength, passing range , goals, set piece ability chances maker?
I see a competent player, but nothing that makes me gasp. He has ability, doesn't do much wrong but he still young, learning
Let's see him actually start some games on the trot before we start claiming he's the bollocks.

He's 21, and playing in the most difficult position on the pitch with confidence and his vision and passing range are already superior to Dier's in my opinion.
He is tenacious in the tackle, and has all the attributes to be a Modric type but with Scott Parkers aggression.

Yes, he's still young and learning...so why stifle it and spend money on an injured and quite frankly vey average player that also needs developing by Poch. Barkley is a project, so in that sense Winks is already streets ahead.

The question on my lips isnt what has Winks proven, but has Barkley done that so many, Poch included, want him.
I see basically James Milner, only with less impact on a game.

It's ok coming on when everyone else is fucked. You're going to look a bit better. Remember David fairclough.
I doubt he has the presence or the ability to command a game for 90mins, yet. Otherwise he may have had more than 3 starts.

What a ridiculous comparison.
As for the "coming on when everyone else is fucked", funny because I thought we were all pining after quality back up so our squad could compete......now it seems you dont need quality on the bench after all.
Just sign Charlie Adam then and bring him on when the oppo is tired....
:lennon:

He showed his inexperience v Burnley imo.
If he did what he was instructed to do for the last minutes he would have just held the ball, distributed it safely and shielded the back four.

The entire team failed that game, bizarre to pick out Winks.....not sure how you know what Poch told him to do either but there you go.....we played a dangerously inept highline indicating the plan was to press Burnley back into their half.
I saw nothing that suggested Winks should have been covering the back 4 who were already sitting on the halfway line.

Don't get me wrong , he looks a good player, but all this talking him up is a bit premature.
He has a way to go.

Its not premature, because the guy has what it takes...he just inexperienced. Winks will develop a lot faster if he's used. Again, I point to Barkley, and wonder what makes him better, other than he's played more PL games, so obviously has more goals etc.
Plus, he's one of our own....you cant buy that.
