Ex-Spurs Player Hugo Lloris

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think the best keeper we've had in terms of the impact he had on the defence and the overall composure of the team was Brad Friedel. Lots of keepers can flatter to deceive with great reflex saves but not many of them can stop a defence from running around like headless chickens. The best keeper is a keeper who doesn't have to make a save because he's already done his job.

For the 11/12 season, Brad was a rock. I've never felt that kind of stability from Lloris.

Go and support another club then!

Incorrect, he was injured in that Newcastle match so came off half time, hence Forster playing the remainder of the season :llorisunsure:
Hadnt we conceeded 5 goals by that point? Lol

Hugo has been a good servant to the club but i shall not remember him fondly in the years ahead.

On his day one of the best shot stoppers in the world but you would have to go back to 5+ years ago to see any real consistency in his Spurs performances.

Good luck in Saudi pal but good riddance to you too.

Let's not rewrite history here, overall Lloris has been an excellent and loyal servant to this club. Prime Lloris was comfortably one the best goalkeepers in the league, very sad that he didn't win a trophy with us.
.. unfortunate for him the years have caught up with him... also not helped by our piss poor defence!! . For his consistency and longevity he has to go down as one of our top keepers... For me... Jennings. Clemence then Hugo... Top boy... Oh and Brad wasn't far behind...

I really liked Brad. Never let us down.

Friedel rarely had to make a save because he never left his line - he never made errors because he never claimed responsibility for anything. Kaboul in particular did a lot of heavy lifting in terms of headers and clearances in the box. It's the illusion of being safe. We conceded 41 goals which whilst pretty decent, isn't spectacular. Friedel was the epitome of Low risk, low reward IMO. He didn't save anything he wasn't supposed to either.

Give me a keeper who is pro-active and pushes the defensive line team higher up the pitch any day, even if a few ricks happen, the net benefit is worth it to me.

The best season I've seen from a Spurs keeper is still Gomes in 2009/10. 31. games, 26 conceded, kept the errors to a minimum, saved multiple pens, saved stuff he had no right saving. People remember his many bloopers from the seasons either side of that, but for that one season, he was incredible.

Neil Sullivan was voted player of the season by the supporters.

Hoddle got him off the wage bill for Levy and replaced him with Kasey Keller.

Legends don’t get in a car pissed and then drive it!!

We should have got rid of him then but oh no he kept the captaincy ffs

Apart from that he was a decent keeper and shot stopper

Distribution poor and positioning also poor

Gazza not a legend then? Van der Vaart? Ledley King?

All did stupid stuff off the pitch at least once, does that take away from their legend status as players?
