It's not a false equivalence whatsoever for the reasons I outlined in my last post.

Just because Lloris got lucky enough to avoid killing someone doesn't change the issue at hand.

Well one crime you go out and premeditate to cause harm and your sole intention is to hurt someone, the other your sole intention is to go out and get intoxicated, the driving is just a by product of that, no-one gets in a car with the actual intention of killing someone.

Massive false equivalence - if Hugo did hit someone then you'll have a different case altogether.

It's why in the eyes of the law drink driving you don't get any jail time as opposed to rape because they're non comparable crimes, it's honestly mind boggling you're even comparing the two things.

Once convicted of drink driving you should get 5yrs imprisonment

Unless Lloris is unaware that drink driving is illegal (doubtful) and can compromise your ability to drive safely (doubtful) then you could argue that it is also premeditated in the sense that he simply doesn't care if harm comes to others and he planned to drive regardless of how unsafe it was, he got into that vehicle KNOWING he could harm others but simply didn't give a shit.

He wasn't slightly drunk, he was puking all over his vehicle and couldn't even walk...come on now.

A byproduct of him drinking and driving is that harm is likely to come to others and unless he is incredibly stupid and unaware of that then he must have known that could have been an outcome.

I’ve often given my car keys to a pub landlord and got a taxi home

Landlord’s don’t mind at all and happy to let you use their car park
