Manager Igor Tudor

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You watching wolves play tonight. They run like mad and if we were to play them now they would thrash us. Rob Edward’s has got them well fired up. They press and counter at speed. Also they are not afraid to shoot. Why don’t we ever take any shots.

Didn't watch, and let's not forget it has taken Edwards a while to get Wolves playing well, and winning, as they did against Villa brings belief.

It is an incredible double victory though.

We just need to do our bit.

We will.

Wolves played like shit. They didn’t register a shot attempt for the first hour.

Great win for the players and fans but they didn’t play well, they got lucky.

If there was anything to learn from that game, it’s that we can continue to play shit football and we may take 3 points at some point.

I know it takes more than two weeks to maybe work out a player's best position, but the way he set us up was so wrong, even I could see that. It will remain to be seen if he is willing or is able to be flexible. to suit the players he has at his disposal. The trouble is we don't have the time for him to come up to speed. Surely we would have been better to stick with Johnny Heitinga as the interim? At least he had a month to suss things out. Would have made more sense, IMO.
Surely he had plenty of days after being appointed to get the low down on the players and their best positions. Players were on a well deserved 5 day break when he was appointed. In that time he should have done his research with his coaches. If they did and still came out with that shit v Fulham he should be binned now.

You are correct. Johnny Heitinga would have made a lot more sense than this situation.

But the damage was really done in the Summer and winter windows. That midfield is horrific. And it’s not lost on me that Gallagher isn’t making a difference.
We needed someone to make a diff in jan like a lookman or akalosh not a steady eddy runner around like Gallagher.

He needs his right hand man in. Typical he hasn’t been able to work yet.

From the Matt law article:

Having overseen defeats in his first two games as interim head coach, Tudor is still hoping to be boosted by the arrival of his trusted long-term assistant Ivan Javorcic.

Javorcic’s arrival at Spurs is believed to have been held up by work-permit issues, but there is now optimism that he could soon take up a role in Tudor’s backroom team.
Great so our saviour can’t do his magic without his right hand man.only we could employ a manager who relies on his assistant.

Sacking him with a micro mindset makes no sense... the job was to get 7-9 points from 12 games .... It wasn't to beat Arse & Liverpool.

Our fixtures are kind; we just gotta nut up and have faith that we made the right appointment come season end.
But Fulham on paper was one of those games where we could have got points. They have not been great at home this season.

not even that - we just needed options.

At the moment, just being fit gets you in the team as a senior player. We need motivated players.

Exactly the same flaw Pochettino had in his "we should only bring in good players who can improve on what we have" shit, when he didn't want anyone and ran our first 11 into the ground for most of the season.

I'd have rather seen Jesse fucking Lingard in the lineup than Bissouma plodding around tbh

Somehow he needs to do something we havent done for months and gee them up to fly out the traps from the first whistle. It is the only way I see us winning this game. More tentative side to side bollocks and nobody willing to get on the ball and progress it up the pitch and it will be more of the same.

Unfortunately I think this group of players just dont want to do it. Especially at home.
He kept talking bs about being on the front foot. Yet in both games so far I think we have been camped in our OWN pen box for much of the game.

True but I've lost count of managers who we complain about being defensive and yet tell us they're trying to play on the front foot. There's something not right about it. We've all seen managers telling players to get forward and the players just roll the ball back. It's not just that recent footage of Tudor yelling at Micky.

I could be talking bollocks (probably am, I'm no tactician) but always seems to me even if the manager wants the team to get forward, our players don't usually comply with that.

I feel like every manager thinks they want to be attacking but they also want it to fit within their game model and control.

What fans associate with attacking is more players being free to attack at will and in large numbers but the more the players are settled into a system and understand when they can attack, the more it looks to us like they are attacking freely and at will.

Ange was the outlier because he’s a mad man that literally tells them to just attack all the time, indiscriminately.

What we need is a coach who’s game model and attitude to control is appealing enough to the fans and players to survive long enough for the players to adapt to it.

I am not sure why managers talk without thinking. Just sets you up to either fail or to be met with but you said.....

I just want to see this club winning games, not just to stave off survival but more generally.

Tudor needs to make a difference and that's it. What that looks like for me is to provide order snd somehow to instill confidence.

But there are 5 teams (plus Wolves and Burnley), who have had managers for longer than Tudor, and if it were so easy to be attacking, compact and resolute, they wouldn't all be in their respective positions.

Tudor, by the Palace gane would have had long enough. We need to see some progress, and we all know what winning the game would bring.

This game is MASSIVE for Tudor.
We really need to win so play Xavi in the middle with Sarr and Gray behind him.
Play Gallagher in front of the back three and let the full backs give the width.
And for God's sake leave Muani on the bench.

Telling the players they are useless in public - is not going to help the team
He is a self serving wanker..
Hes basically on a 3 month contract. I dont really see how he can be self serving. Hes clearly a professional and doesn't want to be wasting his time. The lack of standards at this club has probably shocked him.

The players have been hiding behind the last 2 managers.

The only player who has been called out in public was Werner by Postecoglou because he didn't have the balls to call out anyone else.

Just get Harry and Sherwood in. Can’t be any worse than this unknown below average manager who we would all laugh at it if appointed by spam.
That would work - a 79 year old manager who hasn't managed for over a decade (have you not noticed that football has changed significantly since he retired) and in his last two jobs pre retirement took QPR down and was sacked by Birmingham 2 months into the season because of poor results. Put him with an ex player who wasn't exactly a fan favourite in his spell as our manager, who also hasn't managed for almost 10 years and who took Swindon down in his last managerieal role and was sacked by Villa and us in his previous 2. And has been something of an object of ridicule since then.
Yep - that should work.

It sounds like the players hate him already. Clearly, telling the players they are a load of useless, unfit prima donnas hasn't worked.

Lose tomorrow and they should get rid and get in someone to mollycoddle them to victory in a couple of games. I’m sure even Harry could do that (I’m not sure if that’s a serious suggestion or not, but I’m getting more desperate). Then put everyone up for sale in the summer; I no longer care if any of them leave or stay.

Why does it seem that they hate him already?

that's kind of where I am too. Very much on Tudor's side, as he has no doubt told them they are unfit shite, which they are. But it may take some soft arsepiece like Ange to coach a couple of wins. Yes, I am desperate too.
