He's had some niggles for Southampton but since leaving Liverpool he's played as much as Kane. I'm pretty sure he's soon out of contract too so unless he signs a new contract, he won't cost anything like as much as they would have otherwise asked for. Personally I'd take him all day long for the right price. He's a proven Premier League goalscorer at the end of the day, and has a great attitude. The likes of Edouard and Daka that have been mentioned are only proven yet in really poor leagues. (Scotland and Austria)

If he is coming in around 20m I would take him as well. but I think he is going to be a ridiculous price like 40m+.

I think we need to look beyond next year if Kane is leaving and Ings beyond next season looks like a terrible option. Yes his knees have been fine since coming to Southampton but do you want to bet on those knees holding up as he gets into his 30's?

If we are looking at someone like Ings, I would rather spend more to get a guy like DCL that has the same proven PL experience but will be good for more than 2-3 years or a more talented guy without PL experience who again would be here longer than 2-3 years.

Ings seems like the typical band-aid solution signing that we need to replace almost immediately after signing that were terrible previously, but at least made some sense when trying to maximize results with Kane here, but now that it looks like top 4 is gone for next year I prefer to bring in guys that can get us back to top 4 not hopefully get us to squeak into 6th.

Despite all the goals Toney scored last season, apparently they were all scored inside the penalty area. He’s more like Gary Lineker than a potential Kane replacement.

Looking at young to mid 20s strikers whom performed well last season, any of the following would help lessen the blow of losing Kane:

- Andre Silva
- Vlahlovic
- Isak
- En Nesyri
God forbid we sign Gary Lineker

We do not need to replace Kane with a world class striker. We already have one and are still terrible. We need to find an adequate striker who has potential and replace Kane by strengthening our many, many weak areas (creative midfield, defending, etc.)
Exactly. That's what my mate (Barca fan) told me as well. It's pointless for us to try to replace Kane, we just need to create a new system where the ST is not the focal point, and to improve the other areas of the pitch (a system like we used back in 2017/2018 when Kane was injured and we had Son, Dele, Eriksen and Lucas swapping positions all the time.)

Southampton had to sell Hojberg for a lot less than they wanted because the player was intent on joining us and not signing a new contract there which had a year left on it. The same will happen with Ings, if he says he wants to join us and no-one else then Southampton will have to sell cheaply or lose him for nothing next summer. That's the threat and the player and buying club hold all the aces. Ings will be sold for 15-20 mill which is very reasonable imo

That low spend will give us more money to spend on a young striker with potential, Vlahovic, or Isak, or Daka, or Edouard etc

ENIC OUT NOW !!! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
The inevitable is now very much a reality following near criminal mismanagement by ENIC, Hitchen and co.

Below is a list of achievable transfers for a upper-midtable team of our stature now

- Andre Silva
- Vlahovic
- Watkins
- Belotti

Any other realistic options?

Phill Foden plus £100 million or no deal! Then buy Pascal Daka and Jordan Sancho and Sane. Levy its time to dig deep with the finances!

Ings and Daka. Out and out pace, would shit the opposition. Get Wood if we can get cheap as a backup Giroud type if we need to change things up.

Think we would look at all of :-

Bamford
Ings
Depay
Daka
Toney
Dybala
Edouard
Abraham
Calvert-Lewin
O.Dembele
Watkins

and look to bring 2 in.

I'd like to see us bring in Toney plus an experienced striker like Ings. Say we got somewhere around £130-150m for Kane...that would leave us plenty of moollah to spend on reinforcing the CB/CM/RW positions once deadwood has been cut out of the club.

Be good to get some younger hungry players in, I'm not as well versed as many about who is best suited for us but Vlahovic is a good finisher, pretty fast and a real nuisance. Daka has to be one of the quickest players around ... he is so quick he gives you that edge in getting to balls others can't nicking in front of defenders etc.

Ings is also from my perspective a pretty unreal striker, very technically sound and such a good finisher (remember the opening goal he scored against us at the start of the season?).

Interested to read others suggestions.

Anyone is gonna be a downgrade, I don't mind getting Ings and another younger striker like Daka or Toney etc.
Toney is 25 and has spent most of his career at a sub championship level. His goalscoring record is very impressive but we can't get back into this. This is like the signings we used to make with Darren Bent and Huddlestone etc.
