And don't forget they have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel.

We never stood a chance.

Solskjaer had some horrendous results early in the season, losing home to Crystal Palace, losing at West Ham, Bournemouth, Newcastle, then they had two draws in succession against two newly promoted sides, Sheffield United and Aston Villa. There was a lot of speculation after that, that he was one game away away from the sack. One game to save your job, could you handpick better opponents than our lot up next at Old Trafford.

Maybe we should just name this thread “now that we’re safe from relegation what are the ramifications?” as that’s all we’ve achieved in this shit show of a season.

Man U were going nowhere until they signed Bruno Fernandes in January. They were 3 or 4 points behind us in the league. He has single handedly transformed that team. We royally fucked up, not signing him last summer.

The double whammy of the Fernandes inspired transformation that will secure European Cup football for them next season, is that Harry could well be off to Old Trafford next season. He’d hardly have went there if they didn’t qualify and he’s hardly going to stay at what is now a mid table side with little prospect of challenging for the big prizes for a few years.

Lo Celso hasn't even had the impact on us that Fernandes has had at manure in just half the time.

The rest of our last summer signings have been truly disastrous and a fine example of money not buying success.

Unless you know how to spend it of course, year on year our record signings have got worse and worse.

Thanks Watford & Bournemouth, losing today means we're officially safe! Free delivery with orders over £90 to celebrate, anybody?
Actually, I just checked, think that's stopped too.

Looking at the football today, and where we want to be. Do you really think we’d score 5 past Bournemouth on Thursday? Would we put 3 past Watford without reply? Would we go to Wolves and win with a clean sheet?

Some serious work needs doing on this team, not just transfers, a mentality change. Players need to have more guts, not drop their heads to a conceded goal or bad VAR decision. We need leaders, desperately.

It’s a point I’ve made repeatedly, over the past 5 years or so, our recruitment has been horrendous and very few if any of our signings have had a sustained or long term impact.

If you look at what was peak Pochettino team and years - Hugo, Walker, Vertonghen, Rose, Dembele, Eriksen and Kane were all there when he took over in summer 2014. Pochettino brought about a huge improvement in most of them and with Dier and Dele coming in summer 2014 and Toby and Son in summer 2015, really mounded them into a unit.

Since 2015 plenty of players have been signed and bar a few initial flurries, very little by way of sustained or long term impact.

Hard to escape the conclusion that our scouting and recruitment network is horrendous.

A more general football question as 4th or 5th place is absolutely of no concern to us now. What are Manchester City prospects of winning their appeal? Haven’t really followed the ins and outs of their ban.

I actually hope City do win it if it means pissing off one of the Chavs or Man U who have been cocksure for a while now that Top 5 was in the bag and would be enough.

Exactly. Lo celso has been a shining light in what has been a horrendous summer of signings, but that’s not saying much. He’s not playing anywhere near the same level as Fernandes is producing for United. Ndombele is a complete waste of space, utter shit signing. Sessegnon another guy with potential, but looks far to weak for the premier league. Another failure of a transfer window by the all so great bald one. Levy and Co have single handily ruined the hard work the club has done over the years. We are now literally a midtable team.

So you believe Levy scouted and chose to bring these players in? The failures were the scouts or coaches that chose the wrong players to recruit. Levy has been at fault at not signing players in the past but not to blame for signing expensive players that have not produced.

The proof was in the pudding from Mourinho’s comments reference Bergwijn dude. Levy has the power and is the one cherry picking players. Mourinho even pointed out Bergwijn wasn’t his 1st Choice. So who else is drafting these players in? Now, Bergwijn looks half decent, but the vast majority of our signings have been utter dog shit. Fernandes another player Levy let go. Like the countless others ..... Dybala, Moutinho etc etc. List goes on. So to answer your question, yes Levy does bring these players in and has had that power over managers ever since the beginning. His scouts obviously help him, but Levy is the guy that doesn’t usually get our main targets, yet goes for alternatives. Fernandes from United a prime example, who has completely transformed United and was hot on our radar. Levy is an utter cunt bag.

tbf, we were the same under Poch. Loads of possesion, little or no shots on goal.

Virtually the same players that’s why

I said earlier we haven’t improved since Brighton away and we won’t until a lot of this dross is gotten rid of
