It's time we talked about World Class

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

De Bruyne is a wonderful player, but when Pep plays him deep he's wasted. Further forward I wouldn't compare him to Eriksen at all, more like a second striker

Hazard is a cheat.

Eriksen all day

Hazard has explosive ability that can change a game in an instant, I wish he wouldn't do it so often against us. Eriksen could be so much more but is so weak in the physical side of the game.

I'm happy for them to better than the sum of their parts, they're less likely to be targeted by Barca and Real. May be that other clubs suspect that Poch gets better performances out of these guys than other managers at other teams. I'll be curious to see how Walker gets on at Citeh under Peep. I think, and hope of course, not nearly as well.

There's question marks on most of those guys that you mention that other managers might raise (good).

For instance, Hugo is really crap with the ball at his feet. I'm not sure how he can get much better - he's never looked like an outfield player. But a lot of good keepers do. HL's next best game might be tennis or ping pong - it's defo not playing LB/LWB. Possibly a godd rugby player with the pace and ball in hand.

Alli - I can't see him really being targeted by the big boys until he's more mature, and got many more games under his belt. Love him to bits, but boy can he disappear, esp in a 4-4-2.

Toby - for me the best CB in the PL, but didn't cut it abroad. Odd.

Jan - has only started looking so good with Toby beside him.

Kane - this season will probably be the same for me. I just can't work out why he scores so many. I always liked him before he became a regular because he tried so hard, and had a belter of a shot. But I thought good PL standard No.10 was his limit.

I've said it before, this team reminds me a bit of Clough's teams at Forest and Derby - young guys with great attitude, but when they got the big money transfer often went backwards. Good!

But yes, I'm full of love for these guys. How could we not be? They never say die, always running the other team into the ground. 0-1 at Swans, 1-2 v Wet Spam, I think we got more points from losing positions than anyone else last season. And boy can we put teams to the sword - loads of matches where we could have eased up at 2-0, but still bust a gut to win 4-0, 4-1, 6-1, 7-1.

I disagree.

But I love the confidence and excitement heading into the new season. It's a fucking breath of fresh air.

To be fair, you can pick holes in most players bar C. Ronaldo and Messi....

If we are happy to talk about the likes of Greizman, Aubamyang, Pogba, Mbappe etc as world class, then I dont see why our players shouldnt be.

Look at Neymar for crying out loud. If ever a player was simply produced and marketed as something, its him. The Keyser Soze of football

I love how, when somebody starts a thread stating how great the spine of our team is, your first thought is to pour cold water on every one of them.

This board is depressing to say the least.

No intention to depress you on a Sunday morning.

I tried to say -

We have a great team
Because we are better than the sum of our parts we're less likely to have our stars poached
And I'm full of love for these guys

He is not the best keeper in the world. But he is good enough to player for any team.

He can disappear but it has only happened on a handful of occasions. He is also immature generally. But his game is so good that I do think he could sign for a bigger club now and in the future I would not be surprised to see him at a club like Barca (assuming he keep up and improves on his level of quality).

Toby - for me the best CB in the PL, but didn't cut it abroad. Odd.
Harsh, since for him he is abroad and has only spend two seasons at one other club "abroad" before coming to the Prem, where he has excelled for over three seasons now.

Jan - has only started looking so good with Toby beside him.
We saw flashes of what he can do before Toby came, but if there is one player who is reliant on the team for his own improved game it's Jan.

My opinion.
Kane is top 5 in strikers.
Rose is top 3 in left backs.
Alderweireld is top 2 in centre backs.
Eriksen/Dele should both be top 15 in attacking midfielders.
Lloris is top 5 in goalkeepers.
Dembele is top 10 in central midfield. (Debatable, but I just can't see anybody else that can do the Dembele role for us)

We are truly blessed with some amazing players and an incredible coach. Hope they all reach their potential and create history with the required support from the fans and the board!

We have a team good enough to win any competition we're playing, but we don't have a squad good enough to win more than one.

Toby is a great CB but not top 2 in the world, maybe top 10.
Rose is not in the top 3, top 10 maybe.
Kane is top 10, not top 5.
Dembele is not top 10, maybe top 20.

Lloris
Eriksen
Jan
Toby
Dembele
Rose
Dele
Kane

Could walk into any team in the world.

Let's give this squad some fucking love

Everyone has a different definition of world class, for me it would be something along the lines of playing in the best 11 and not looking too much out of place.

Eriksen - yes
Jan - maybe
Toby - yes
Dembele - yes if fully fit
Rose - not sure
Dele - not yet
Kane - definitely

Kane for me is the most out and out WC player we have, he is as good as any other number 9 in world football and the best forward in the prem.

World class though is all a matter of opinion.
