Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And likewise yourself.

Players are the clubs most valuable assets - I find it hard to believe that they are not mentored on a medical level by anything but well qualified sports medical professionals.
It was more about what the club seems to do at times to cut the odd corner. If they can do it with the players, then there’s an argument that it flows through the club generally. I just feel bad today. Sonny gone. Madders crocked again. Injury list already hitting alarming levels and we’ve not played a fully competitive game yet. Maybe feel different in the morning and I remain hopeful for the season.

And yet we CONSISTENTLY see fuckin rank stupidity, such as piss poor or no warm ups b4 subbing.. players walking off and around with knee or other injuries.. not down to medics but . Multi million pound investments playing with dumb arsed little shin pads that cover and protect next to absolutely fuc all... Sori but Football doesn't cover itself in glory in the iq battle.

We've lived through the loss of Greaves, Peters, Mabbutt, Hoddle, Perryman, Gascoigne, Ginola , Bale and Kane - it's the nature of the sport. We all knew Son was coming to the end of his effective career, but you're right, Maddison is a blow.

pop your CV in mate, you clearly know something that the people with qualifications are missing.

Humans aren't machines, they are flawed. We break - sometimes without warning or reason.

(I've never suffered one) But apparently you don't really feel pain with an ACL injury, hence players like Timber trying to play on (even when the Scums doctors looked at it over half time).
A little bit of a misconception. The ACL does not have nerves running through it so yes, some ACL tears are nearly painless, and in fact people can go years without knowing they tore it like my best friends wife who was played BBall in university for 4 years without an ACL, just a wobbly knee. But, with an ACL tear there is movement of other tissue in the knee that most definitely does have nerve endings.
ACL injuries typically involve a lot of trauma and even contactless injuries can end in the athlete in excruciating pain. As a coach and women’s soccer/basketball fan I’ve seen far far too many of the second kind.

I used to play with those older type of shin pads. Don't know how players feel safe to do anything with those tiny modern ones on.
Yeah absolutely.. and I've had to carry a teen of in absolute agony with thankfully, only a badly bruised shin after him insisting that the prem boys wore them and he should be allowed to... Also witnessed a semi pro at my local club busting his shin and.. well haven't heard of him since. To my Knowledge he was out for almost a complete season.

and your medical qualifications are what - exactly?
I could be wrong, but my guess is that club like Spurs - in the top 5-or 6 earning football teams on the planet probably don't employ physio's and Drs educated at the university of Swaziland - and tend to go for more or the top end of the professional market.

And yet you feel free to abuse them.

My comments are retracted with grovelling apologies if you are a fully qualified sports medical professional.
I honestly wouldn't mind a Schamaan or two in the medical team.

Shin pads??? For kids and Sunday league players!! And anyone who has trained / played at pro or semi pro level will tell you that …………..

IYKYK (and that’s not a recent thing as the photos tell you).

Shin pads were a nuisance. I used to cut the tops off cereal boxes and make them into thin rectangle shapes to mimic a shin pad because you had to wear them. The refs wouldn’t know any different and you got to wear the lightest shinnies ever.
The ones they wear now are actually like them😂😂
I should’ve trademarked them back in the day 😂😂
