Ah ok so you used my post being "very very subjective" in a negative light but subjectivity is ok if you agree with the persons stance/opinion. Thick as pig shit.
Lamela was by no means shit before he got injured. That is the subjective point of view of many of us. You think he was. Another subjective point. Can you back up your claim that he was struggling for form before his injury, any more than the rest of the team?

3 assists and a goal in his 9 starts if I'm reading correctly and was brilliant in the 2015/16 season. He was far more consistent than Christian (who had a tendency to sleepwalk through some games) at the time and one of our most important players.

Stats don't tell the whole story. He was worst player in numerous games - West Brom and Leverkusen away stand out. Got an assist away at CSKA but was woeful for the rest of the game. Was woeful in general in the CL. It was his stupid attempt at a nutmeg in our own half that led to the opening goal against Monaco and we never recovered from that bad start.

I don't think he'll ever start for us in the PL or CL again and he'll either be sold or go out on loan in January.

Yes.

He started off well against Everton and scored. Proceeded to have 2 sub par games to which he was dropped for the Stoke away game (we won 4-0 btw). He stayed on the bench the next 3 league games (we won all 3 btw) and came back against City because Kane got injured where he was pretty decent. He was utterly shite against WBA and poor against Bournemouth away then we didn't see him again. Champions league games were also sandwiched in to this where he was poor.

Whilst I think this is bollocks, I'm on about the 18 months of football he got before he was injured including the season before, considering he only got a handful of appearances last season. He was better than Christian Eriksen for sure in those 18 months. I don't see what's so scandalous about hoping he follows the footsteps of a player who has improved vastly in the last 18 months.

What's bollocks about what I've wrote? Check the match threads for these games and see the general consensus in regards to his performances in the games I've outlined.

If you're talking the previous season then that's different but he was poor (bar the first game of the season) in the 16/17 season before he got injured.

Yea, I'm not going to do that to extend a debate about something which doesn't matter.

My point is before his injury he was a key player for 18 months with outstanding for during that time, better than one of our best players, Christian Eriksen, who has improved ten-fold since then. I have faith Lamela can follow in his footsteps considering they are pretty much exactly the same age.

Poch would never have persevered with him if he thought he was shit. The coaching staff obviously have faith in his abilities and have demonstrated this during his time out. He will return and bring his unique dynamic to our squad which can only improve us.

They need to get him fit so they can flog him, it's as simple as that. He's only here because he isn't fit so isn't sellable. If we can get a bit of game time in him, I guarantee he'll be gone in January.

I am through with him, eighty appearances in almost five years, a hip, injury, back back, family problems and a dead fucking dog.

Let's bring in Barkley and Zaha and we will have strengthened our squad, added pace and trickery with young hungry talent.

By all means critisize. But back up your arguments rather than just throwing them out there.

And accept that people are not going to think like you and will call you out on things they do not agree with.

It's what discussion boards like this are all about.

From my experience this is one of the worst examples of a discussion board. Having a different opinion has subjected me to bouts of insults and swearing.
