It feels like there has been a downward correction of late in the valuation of players. I think during 2018 into 2019 it went fucken mental but it feels like it has become more sensible (Richarlison the exception).
Any actual economist types on here fancy quantifying it with real numbers? I work on emotions.

I don't see how Barcelona can justify that kind of sum for him. Surely there's better for the money out there? They must see something in him that they really like.

Makes sense to me to be honest. Richarlison is 22, has a contract until 2024 and is their prized asset. Ancelotti is the manager there now and they want to strengthen rather than deplete the squad. Fair play to them.

The 85M is a more valuable asset.

Southhampton are expecting to sell Cedric Soares, and hence their need for KWP, who should get minutes assuming Cedric deal goes through. No doubt talks re KWP in the summer

No solid proof. But I believe the super rich clubs have hoovered up alot of talent for big fees. Of which alot of them havnt lived up to the hype. They are now stuck with huge wage bills and players they dont need on big wages that no other clubs are prepared to pay.

I think you are probably right.
Hence why i think loan with option to buy will become the norm for a while.
