Wanyama is one that I suspect Spurs have tried to sell for at least 2 years now - seemed odds on to go to Bruges in the summer with a £13m fee agreed between the clubs and a £65k pw wage almost agreed bur apparently Wanyama decided against it at the last minute. Problem is he has 2 years left on his contract.

And if he refuses to be sold he may well also refuse to be loaned. And if we simply do not register him in our squad (and I am not a legal expert) I do wonder if that might trigger a 'constructive dismissal' event ie we are depriving him of the opportunity to work. And that might cost us not only the 2 years wages left on his contract but damages as well - so might be £5m - £10m cost versus getting a fee in. If that's not the case I suspect a few other clubs would have also dealt with a few players that way.

The other overseas trained player I could see going is Aurier, who can be replaced (at least for this season ) by Foyth with Walker-Peters also there (albeit Poch clearly isn't a big fan atm). After those 2, the other overseas trained players who imo are the most likely to be candidates to be moved on are Dier, Sissoko and Lamela, but all three have their uses and I suspect the club would like to retain all 3 until the summer.

Spurs announced in preseason that Rose was given the opportunity to talk to other club(s) but nothing came of it. Biggest problem I suspect is to find another LB - unless that will be Sessegnon by summer.

So looking at the squad overall Management - Our Squad 2019/20 - and the Rebuild ! there are 2 'HG' player spots available which could be filled in January. Problem is that there are not too many good candidates available.

To me the candidates might be :

Lewis Cook (DM) age 22 from Bournemouth - But he's just coming back from a year out with injury. Poch would also need to agree not to kill him in training until summer. But he's quality

Joe Gomez (RB/CB) aged 22 from Liverpool - He's unhappy as he has lost his place through injury last season and isn't being played. But would Liverpool sell to us ?

Aarons (RB) aged 19/20 from Norwich - Inexperienced. Not sure he's that much better than KWP. Would Poch play him

A few other options but probably less than 6 to 10 good enough for us. But these might not all be available !
Sheffield Utd have an excellent RB but they probably won't sell at the moment.

The Alena links seem to be hanging about.

I would happily take another baller in central mid. Admittedly I'm basing this on a 10 min Youtube clip but he seemed to have a bit of the Lo Celso about him. Diminutive, good at taking the ball under pressure and wriggling out into space, has a good change of pace as well.

He's a player that makes sense when you consider Dier maybe becoming full-time CB and Wanyama out the door soon.

Fernandes seems like a luxury right now, I'd love him as an Eriksen replacement but that can wait until the summer. A right back is obviously crucial but can we get someone top drawer in January?

Lo Celso, Fernandes and Son behind Kane, with Ndombele and a purely defensive midfielder would be insane. How much would Ndidi go for...?

I mentioned a while back on here that I was fortunate enough to go to Barcelona in January and I caught the game vs Levante at the Nou Camp. Me an drew my mate (Woolwich fan, don't judge me but feel free to judge the living shit out of him), said within about 20 minutes that he was the standout player that caught our eye. From what we've seen think of a slightly less dynamic and direct Lo Celso and a much better quality version of Winks who players more attacking. If Alena comes in it'll be a top little signing, nice, tidy, clever movement, can pick out a pass both one touch and whilst dwelling on the ball etc.

My issue is based on what I saw I don't see how Barcelona let him leave, especially on a permanent transfer and in the Spanish league the pressing isn't anywhere near as intense so the acid test would be how he can handle players breathing down his neck all of the time. If we lose Eriksen and gain Lo Celso and Alena, honestly there will not be a better deal to be had that we could have got. One to keep our eyes on for sure, he'd be a well loved player in a Spurs shirt if we can pull it off.

Onana, Atal, Upamecano, Zakaria & Alena would be wonderful based on the recent links we've seen.

Still unsure about Bruno Fernandes but I haven't watched him enough to say that I'm completely against it but let's be honest, the numbers don't lie.

Give me 3 of the above over the next 2 windows and I'm probably going for Atal, Upamecano and either Alena or Zakaria depending on how this season pans out. Not so sure we need a new GK just yet and I'm really feeling that new Sissoko/ Ndombele looking midfield for the time being.

I keep saying it but kalvin Phillips at Leeds has to be worth a look.

He plays under Bielsa so no issue with Poch in terms of understanding the methods . His homegrown, in the championship which should mean his very affordable and he fills a position we desperately need to strengthen.

If we are intent on getting another striker in we could do worse than this guy.

Young, done well at Celtic and is apparently looking for a move. INB4 "lol Scotland" I do think it could be worth scouting the top clubs in these smaller leagues. Celtic are a big club after all and he would be coming in with a winning mentality and mindset already set.

Just look at Rodgers now compared to him before going to Scotland for another example. Sometimes it is good to go to a smaller league to blood yourself in before going to the big time.

Re JackClarke; Nah i'm not buying it. I can't believe that any young talent would sign for a club without having a talk (even by phone) with the manager about what plans he had for the player. Bearing in mind this was a £10m purchase not some spotty youth getting his first pro contract.
