Selling Aruier without a replacement would be madness. 15 million isn't even that much for him. If we had an Aarons or Semedo in the door already, then sure.
Maybe we do...

From what I can see, he’s only played two 90 minutes in the league this year, (213 minutes in total) one of them as a second striker. And hasn’t played a single minute as a CM.

I know fuck all about him, have watched the tiny bit of YouTube out there. But this seems like a really odd use of a non HG squad space.
Benfica got a new manager in Jan last year and he plays 442 with 2 holding midfielders and doesn't like having box to box mids in CM.

I suspect this signing is due to Sissoko's injury.

The signing of Fernandes gives me hope we are moving to a 4-3-3 of

Son Kane Moura

Lo Celso Gedson Ndombele

Sess Tanganga (Toby) Sanchez Aaron's

Lloris/new keeper

Get Aaron's in now and a Proper second striker and we might be back in business

The general transfer noise makes me think that Max Aarons coming in this window (with no loan back) is going to happen.

FWIW, that wasn't what I would have guessed before (with a purchase and loan back until the summer being the only thing possible) but our willingness to loan out KWP, and apparently listening to offers for Foyth and Aurier make it much more likely.

Also worth pointing out that Norwich City are a well-run club and are always willing to sell their assets to reinvest the cash. They've been very relaxed about their results this season and have made noises about not sacking their manager etc if/when they go down. They seem less desperate than a lot of other teams we've seen before in the Prem to avoid the drop at all costs.
