Today's game must tell Mourinho loads ....

Tanganga is the dogs ... we all know that Jose likes a back four which when we attack becomes a back three ... to do that you need players who can play CB but who are comfortable and fast enough when moving wide in a defensive back three as a fullback moves up-field. We now have Davies, Jan and Tanganga who are good at this ... that allows Serge or Ryan to bomb forward when we have the ball knowing the back three will cover him ... hope we get to see more of Ryan going forward when Serge gets a rest and Tanganga swaps sides ...

Dele was played much deeper, bit of a surprise and very clearly not his position, he needs to play as a nine and with Son and Lucas in the way today that just didn't work ... that said we created more then enough chances to win so not all bad by any means ...

Winks and Fernandes are quality players but not DM's enough said .... Mourinho likes to play a passer alongside a DM not two passers together, this is a massive hole in the squad, can Dier fill it?

So why is this on the transfer page?

Sanchez, Toby, Jan, Ben and Tanganga with Serge and Ryan out wide looks strong .... so at the back Rose, Foyth, KWP, CCV who can all be sold or at worst loaned out ...

Midfield we have no top drawer DM, Dier as cover is fine but he's not as a starter, alongside this much needed DM would go Winks, Fernandes or Sissoko .... so we have Wanyama and Skipp who can both be sold or at worst loaned out ...

Creative midfield assuming Eriksen is gone - LoCelso, Ndombele

Attacking midfield Dele, Son, Lucas, Lamela

Striker Kane and the other big hole in the squad - sure Parrott in due course but we need somebody now.

So Out - Eriksen, Rose, Foyth (loan), KWP, CCV, Wanyama, Skipp (loan) >70m?

and In - 80m DM and 40m striker (Bale for three years?)

only a week to get it done pull your finger out Daniel .....

Benfica lad Florentino Luis rumoured to be in talks with AC Milan. I'm sure our gaffer will know a lot about him and we do need a DM:

 
According to the papers, we were looking to bring Mitrovic in from Fulham but were quoted £40m.

How do the “pay whatever it takes” crew feel about this?

I’d have taken him for half that. Tops.

I'd genuinely go for Matic in the summer on a free and a young DM to mould alongside Winks for the role for both to compete with each other.

A 2 year deal for 31 year old Matic, give Skipp the loan he requires and flog Wanyama & Dier. DM options next season Winks, Matic, young DM like Florentino with Skipp on a loan until January with the option of extending if we don't need him. Sadly that means holding off until the summer as Man U ain't letting Matic leave in January no chance.
 
Tanganga looks a good player, but he is not a left back, he can't pass with his left, his passes down the line went/go out of play, so he is easy to play when he gets the ball
Foyth is our Stones (M. City) I know he loses the ball, but with a real DM in midfield maybe a coach could make Foyth a good Defender
KWP I would loan him out, let him learn to play as a defending FB
Winks will never be a DM, not strong enough doesn't understand where he needs to be
Dier I would keep as backup
Skipp get him out on loan he needs game time and we can't give him that
Eriksen to go (sad but he wants to go, for me good lucky to him)
Wanyama just get rid and we save on his wages
Rose to go (sad as I like Danny)
In we need to buy a real DM, yes we may have to pay more than he's worth but we need that position filling, without a true DM why should Son & Kane stay ? may as well move to sunny land with bit more money
we need to loan or buy a big striker (that's what Jose appears to want)
 
Willian José has been left out of the Real Sociedad squad for this evening's home game vs Mallorca. Imanol, the RS coach, had hinted that he might be included but he hasn't. Presumably that means that talks are ongoing
