Sell

Dele: just not consistent enough.
Lo Celso: always injured.
Ndombele: obviously not part of Conte’s plans.
Doherty: just not good enough.

Sell if we get replacements and good offers

Rodon: still need 5 CB’s for 3 CB.
Bergwijn: if we are bringing in another attacker.

Buy

Vlahovic: let’s go all in.
Lamptey: failing that I would take Adama purely as a RWB but Lamptey would be great.
De Virj: another quality CB.
Kessie: make Hojbjerg cover Skipp and Kessie.
Attacking CM: need a creative player who can break down deep teams not sure who that would be.

Agree but attacking CM should be top of the list.

Vlahovic would be a massive coup but would suffer from the same lack of service all our attackers do

Thing is Conte doesn’t normally use an attacking AM. He plays a deep lying play maker whose job is to thread the ball into the forwards and wing backs , the other two CM’s then operate more like Skipp driving forward, winning tackles and tracking runners.

For his system Brozovic would be the deep lying playmaker and perhaps someone like Kessie to play with Skipp.

Brozovic
Skipp Kessie

Both Brozovic and Kessie’s contract end this season and they can sign pre contracts in Jan.

Unpopular opinion here, but I'd still have him. He's one of the best in the World when he's motivated, and I believe Conte can make him a star in a 3-4-3.

Attitude problems.
Injury problems.
Big wages.
Will clearly want mega-signing on fee otherwise why not renew at Barca?

........Terrible idea.

"one of the best in the World"

......Serious exaggeration.

Leicester are not in a good place financially - excluding profits from sale of players last year they made 2nd largest loss in PL. So they cannot afford to turn down a reasonable bid for a player refusing to sign a new contract and down to one year left in the summer.

I don't see any of the top 4 or 5 clubs buying him, they've got other priorities, and clubs below say 7th in Pl do not have the finances to match a bid of say £35m from Spurs.

Not saying its a done deal but its far from impossible.

Being saying this about Leicester for years. Glad someone else noticed it. I even said on here their ebitda was one of the worst I had ever seen in any industry. It is simply not a viable business.

Fair assessment.

It’s that playmaker role though that we need the most though.

We need a top class CM that can both create and offer enough work-rate to allow us to play in a CM2 when desired or as a CM3 depending on what Conte wants to play at the time.

Big ask, but it's the essential peice of the puzzle; regardless of whatever other trimmings people fancy.

Agreed

Leicester's revenue is reduced due to Covid but those ratios of wages/revenue should be a bit of an eye opener for some. Obviously unsustainable (more than 100% of revenues paid out as wages) - I think they bet the farm on getting successive CL campaigns in taking on new players on high wages.

Vlahovic's stats the last year and this year (as of today)

Last Year
Apps: 37
Goals: 21
Assists: 3
Goals above xG: +2.5
Non Penalty Goal Conversion Rate: 18%

This Year
Apps: 19
Goals: 16
Assists: 2
Goals above xG: +5.7
Non Penalty Goal Conversion Rate: 16%

None of this says fluke seasons / flop.

Remember, he's just 21 playing for Fiorentina...
This lad is an assist-machine of the highest order!

Difference is the length of contract - 18 months left means they don't have too much negotiating room - if they don't sell in January then contract is down to one year in summer so he has to be sold to get any value.

In January a bid of say £35m might be enough if Leicester have located a replacement (and they should have been looking given his contract situation).

But others will have thoughts on other cm's
There is a lot of interest in him from top clubs so I'm assuming Leicester are hoping for a bidding war to offset his length of contract.

If Dembele is truly available for a reasonably affordable fee, I would still go for him.

The guy is a genuinely generational talent. If it weren't for injuries, I really do think he could have been the better player between him and Mbappe.

I understand the scepticism, but the prospect of a front three of Dembele, Kane and Son in a fully functional, well oiled Conte team is absolutely terrifying.

Perhaps they have other revenue streams or built up a huge war chest over the years with their monopoly, but King Power‘s duty-free business would have taken a massive Covid hit. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
