Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Does anyone seriously think Patrici or Conte would have come here without written assurances on transfer budget?

If we don't make many signings now then there will be in the summer. Personally I do think we'll sign 1 or 2 though.

Anyone who expected a major overhaul in January just wasn't being realistic, it's extremely rare for there to be much movement in January.

A busy window would be something like 2 players coming in and 2-3 going out (even on loan).

Dietary concerns or footballing?

I must say, at a distance, I do have concerns about his amino acid absorption rate.
LOL fukQ

Agility mainly when I watched him, want close to Modric type than an Essien (given we have Skipp who looks capable enough in this latter mould). Would like a more cultured player, to PEH can drop to cover for Skipp first and foremost.

Kante is the prototype build, for me, slender enough to bend quickly, wirey, low muscle mass so can run-run-run, but tough little bugger.

The point is around making moves early and be proactive not reactive
We always make the mistake of doing our business late in every window.
And it tends to come down to Levy's brinkmanship to knock the prices down.

The most compelling argument for us to get our business done early in January is that our squad is paper thin and we have a run of fixtures coming up that will probably decide if we are going to make top 4.

For that reason alone I was hoping that the club had 2-3 lined up ready to pull the trigger as soon as the window opened.

But as per usual my expectations do not align to my hopes.

Here you go

But what do they say about verbal agreements?

They shook hands on it.

Most clubs finalise deals at the end of the transfer window - just need to look at the day to day deals announced summary to see that.

Are you saying there’s a gentleman’s agreement?

My guess is the truth is somewhere in the middle. Levy has to realize that they need to improve, clearly Paratici will want to make some changes and it goes without saying that Conte will. They’re likely on the same side in that regard.

At the same time, no one can think it’s all happening in January. I get impatient, because I think they should have things ready to drop on January 1st, but it’s probably not reasonable. Maybe 1-2 deals and a player or two out, but the big changes come in the summer.
