There's no way we're in for Lingard. It'll be his agent spreading sausages to the press. He hit a purple patch of form just in time for England games. He's always been overrated and isn't young anymore. I'm not convinced he's even close to Dele Alli in terms of performance.

He ticks none of the boxes for us. We've mainly been signing players 24 and under that have potential to sell on. The only time we go against this recently is for loan signings or Llorente.

Here's your facts, liar - 200m net spend in 10 fucking years - 20m per year

We have been outspent by

- Chelsea
- City
- Woolwich
- Man Utd
- Liverpool
- Aston Villa
- Everton
- West Ham
- Newcastle

On par with Brighton, Wolves and Crystal Palace

Now please own it!

That link also shows the last 5 years we've net spent 50m more than Liverpool, doubled our annual net spend to 44m, and only been outspent (net) by Arse, Chelsea, City, ManU, Everton.

The last three years - since stadium was completed - only four teams have higher net - Arse (-307m), Villa (227), ManU (321.22), ManC (217) than us (215.4).

Last three years we've almost matched City's net, higher net spent than Liverpool (43m) and Chelsea (75m).

As others have said. Our biggest problem is not how much we spend. Our financial model is pretty normal for the overwhelming majority of clubs in Europe.

It's been how we spend.

We used to be much better at it, the last 5 years we've been pretty bad at it - or to be more accurate, lots of other clubs wised up and got better at it, whilst we simultaneously got worse.

I think a lot of the problem at Spurs isn't lack of ambition sometimes, it's actually being snobbish. Some of you display it very often.

We finished halfway down the league last year and haven't won anything significant for a very long time.
We probably need to bolster our squad some minor upgrades this month, the likes of Lingaard who is a goal threat unlike others, isn't to be sniffed at.

I wouldn't bet against United selling for pittance now to avoid paying him 6 months wages and then lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
Only set of fans applauding no signings & praising the chairman whilst telling the world how can we improve this team? Who do you drop? As though we were Brazil 1970.
I guess it’s positive so they like to be seen that way. But it’s also wrong & pretty dumb too.
Opposite for sales. Walker is shit. So glad we sold him. But in reality we still not replaced him.

It's the classic spurs case of "who's available but not expensive"....ring any bells?

Would that be any worse than summer 2019 window ? :

Tanguy N’Dombele
(Lyon) hyped by some as a great even world class midfielder - £60m. Now nobody wants him.

Giovani Lo Celso
(Real Betis), hailed again by some as a great acquisition - loan obligation to buy costing £42m. Done nothing for Spurs in 2.5 years. Probably time to move on whilst he still has value.

Ryan Sessegnon
(Fulham) I was stunned by fee we paid - £30m - as he didn't look anything like a finished article. Did fine on loan at Hoffenheim last season, but so many injuries impossible atm to assess if he will be a decent LWB option for us or not

Jack Clarke
( Leeds) I accept he was bought as a youth punt - £10m - problem is he's yet to move forward from that position

Oh and we turned down around that time Yuri Tielmans - who has done very well at Leicester - and Bruno Ferdinand - who has done well goalscoringwise for ManU. And both could have been bought for less than Ndombele/Lo Celso.

2019 was a great way to spend £150m or so. Thanks Poch.

Yep. We could have a player who will make us loads better but cost say 70m so then it’s a no. Let’s go for 30m player punt & hope it works out. Then be shocked when it doesn’t.

Whoever we sign or sign no one. The fighting cock will be sure to give it a good 8/10 window. Like every window.

"It's a dream to sign for Tottenham"

Either she doesn't subscribe to interweb or her agent is the bentest of bent fuckers in the business
