Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Shaktar Donetsk about to sign David Neres... This will highly increase the chance of Bergwijn going to Ajax. Hopefully not too expensive, from my point of view...
Will Bergwijn get in the Ajax starting 11 though. Surely Anthony, Haller and Tadic are nailed on starters.

Dragon has good agent connections so not made up like S/C clickbait

Haller will be away for the Africa Cup and, more importantly, hasn't got the speed Bergwijn has. Antony is likely to get transferred next year, so Ajax will have a back up winger ready. Stevie is from the Ajax academy, so he knows what's being expected.

Yes. About 21 years.

So Carrick, Lennon, Berba, Modric, Bale, Dembele, Hugo, Jan, Eriksen, Walker, Son and more never happened.

Amazing really how Stambouli, Chiriches and the gang got us to the heady heights of regular European football, domestic finals, CL finals, title challenges after over a decade in the doldurums.... Truly amazing.

Well, the cult is already underway in this thread.

Now the narrative is, that ENIC built a smashing side that Poch destroyed.

The sheer LOLZ of it.

Who do you think was manager for most of the windows when we failed to buy any decent players ?

And most of that time no Directors of football or Sporting Directors ..... so footballing decisions stop at his desk.

Not to mention no academy youngsters (except Winks) coming through in that time too - mostly as he'd banned youngsters from being loaned out. Case in point Walker-Peters never played so left ..... man of the match when we lost to Southampton this season

Great coach, lousy manager.

The feeling within Spurs was that Conte's squad was in need of a new striker, right wing-back and a left-sided centre-back.

The Italian is understood to have agreed with that assessment but also wants a new central midfielder to add to his options.

Following Monday's meeting, the new midfielder, striker and wing-back are expected to the priority this month, with the new left-sided centre-back to provide competition for Ben Davies left until the summer unless an unexpected opportunity arises.

Defender Joe Rodon was set to leave this window either on loan or permanently, but as of yet the club is still to receive interest from a Premier League club for his services.
The pressure is now on Paratici with just 20 days remaining of the window to sign players who improve the squad in the three key positions in order to keep Conte happy about the level of backing he will get from his new club.

The new head coach is not expecting huge sums to be spent and knows the difficulties of the January window. He has already stated publicly that it will take more than one transfer window to fix the problems at the club.

All the former Premier League and Serie A winner is asking from this month's dealings is that the squad is improved, particularly if the north London club has the ambition to battle for a top four spot this season.

The players Conte deemed surplus to requirements have been touted to clubs and their agents involved, which could free up further funds towards those incoming signings, with Wolves winger Adama Traore earmarked as a potential converted wing-back among other candidates.

How dare the fans expect more than 1 carling cup in 21 years from the worlds 9th richest club

:contefacepalm2:
I love that you always do this completely overlooking the years we spent in the CL including making the fucking Final!!

but that doesn't count for shit cause it's not a league cup!

grow up JT.

we've competed and punched above our weight at times in Europe.

How good do you reckon Anthony will be.

Because the thought of Traore and Moura against the pairing of Mazroui and Anthony leaves me feeling cheated

He actually thinks Pochetinno chose the players :roflmao::roflmao:

Bless him.

Pochettino on transfers " I am just the coach. I am not the manager"

Even Mourinho told us Bergwijn was Levy punt!
he was definitely responsible for Ndombele.

***I'm not blaming him for that, I'm just saying he wanted his man and got him for 60M

But as the 23-year-old told L’Equipe after making the move, it was Pochettino who was the deciding factor.

“It’s a carefully thought-out decision. Tottenham have one of the best coaches in the world. The fact that he wants you really makes you want to work with him. It’s he who tipped the balance in my decision.
“It’s hard to describe but he knows how to touch, to mark people. He looked me in the eye and said ‘come with me and I’m sure I’ll help you progress.’ That kind of thing made me want to sign. I saw that he really wanted and liked me.”

Why do you always quote something which was true at a point in time

Plenty of journalists quoted a delighted Poch a year after he joined as coach to when he was promoted to manager.

and then some 6 months or so before leaving seemed to say he was only coach once again (but no further news on how that happened)

But at least my news is ore accurate than the 'Not one brick' which you kept on reciting !
