Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Agree. I think it’s most likely he walks first week in Feb, if not there’s not a chance he’s here mid June once he’s promised early signings in the summer that don’t materialise
Ooh I just bookmarked my first ever post - in early Feb I'll be revisting either to say to you "wow, you were right, he's gone" or "oh dear, that prediction was nonsense wasn't it". I wonder which it will be - how exciting! :)

At first, I thought it said the best player in Europe - but I saw it read "outside of the 5 biggest leagues", so there aren't that many to choose from really.
Although I am not denying that he's got a real star in him (I haven't seen him play enough to make a firm judgment of him) I am always suspicious of players from Primeira Division as most of them flatter to deceive. There have been so many - and too many - so-called wonder kids that one wonders what happened to. Most of the players are owned by wealthy and powerful agents who are masters in promoting their players and although the level is good (ex., not even Marcus Edwards turned into a "Messi" playing there), it's hard to judge a player as it's not the level of the 5 "big" leagues.
Diaz is already 25 years old. Why didn't he hit the headlines a few years back?
How many really good players have come out from Primeira Division after Cristiano Ronaldo? Pepe, Bernard Silva...and...?
If Conte wants him, then of course...
Pepe, Bernardo silva, cancelo, Ruben dias, Ederson, Bruno Fernandes, falcão, hulk, oblak, Ruben neves, Moutinho, diogo jota, James Rodriguez, Eder militao, di maria, Alex Sandro, Danilo, nani, matic, ricardo pereira, Raul Jimenez, raphinha… so I’d say a few :contethumb:

He did though. What devil magic Poch used I don’t know, but after his first season Levy offloaded Paulinho, Capoue, Kaboul, Stambouli, Chiriches, Soldado and Lennon for miles less than what he deemed their collective value to be and that clearout was the catalyst that set us on our way.

Levy, briefly, changed his ways for Poch, and that massively impacted Poch’s success.

The way we dispersed with Sissoko, Toby, Lamela & Serge in the summer wasn't too different....

Absolutely happy to credit Poch with efficiency of that process though...... I did at the time too. Did a really good job of weeding out all the bad apples in year 1.

Antonio Conte finally sat down for his transfer and player evaluation meeting with the Tottenham hierarchy on Monday.

The feeling within Spurs was that Conte's squad was in need of a new striker, right wing-back and a left-sided centre-back.

The Italian also wanted a new central midfielder.

Following Monday's meeting, the new midfielder, striker and wing-back are expected to be the priority this month, with the new left-sided centre-back left until the summer.

Defender Joe Rodon was set to leave this window but the club is still to receive interest from a Premier League club.

The CB news is very disappointing.

I don't understand the Mourinho ans Ndombele links.
I'd have thought Ndombele would be like Teflon to former coaches.
Kinda worked his way into the first team in the end though didn't he?

Italian league might suit him, bit more time on the ball, slightly slower pace.

Also, unlike Conte who has very specific instructions for players, Mourinho is quite happy for players to be individualistic and work it out for themselves.

I kinda see it.

I think the Summer LCB target is clearly Pau Torres.

he's currently still in the CL with Villarreal so no chance of a Jan move.

According to reports he was tempted last summer but couldn't not play CL for his home grown club.

fair enough.
