Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If Antonio Conte needed to present Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy with any more evidence of the need for serious investment in his squad, a DVD of this Carabao Cup semi-final with Chelsea should seal the deal.

The passage of play in the first half where they kept the ball, completely unopposed, for about 30 passes was it. From that team, I'd only (just about) keep Kane and Moura. The rest were apalling.

Blunt instrument and why?

Fcuk me is it Levy' s fault we have spent so bloody poorly or that our players are as fragile as fcuk?

Of course we need players but hold fire until the end of this window for now.

We have Conte and We need to see how he does and if he gets backed. If he fails or is not given the players he needs within reason then okay but even then, would we then start saying Conte was the wrong appointment? Is it only right when it's always right?

I want success but the more I want realism.

Knee-jerkimg is not the answer and certainly not at this juncture.

For the summer transfer window, I think we should play a forum-wide game of 'spursy window bingo' - whoever wins gets a month of complete ban immunity

I don't even want him but just fucking do it.

"On the verge of..."
"Pushing to..."
"Swooping for..."
"Tried to..."
"Couldn't agree on..."

This is the problem with these aggregators, they report the same bullshit every day and just replace the words with something else just to get the clicks up and enhance the engagement, meanwhile since people are thirsty for transfers these days they constantly click on these tweets and end up reading some rehashed story.

Maybe it's better to go old skool and just wait for transfers to actually happen.

No chance people involved in something like this would be blabbing to SC. It could be huge sums of money. Anyone leaking this out and potentially scuppering the deal would be sued by Levy/Lewis straight away. They aren't going to fuck about. Dangerous putting this shit out there.....if it is true of course.

Interesting point you bring up here.... At what point do these ITK twats get considered 'corporate meddling/disruption' (for want of a better phrase)..... Peddling commercially damaging falsehoods etc. etc.

Just saw my mistake. Funny how peeps thought of horses.

First thing that popped into my head was a Mitsubishi Colt and some generical American sport team names.

‘’Who: The Goat
When: 13/01/22
Where: SC

We've heard this from a few people now so thought it was worth posting.

Paratici (and subsequently Conte) were promised we'd have money to spend on new players and that was part of what convinced them to join.

These finances were meant to be from a deal that we'd hoped to have wrapped up by now. We don't know if it was the stadium rights or someone buying equity but Levy thought it'd be done already. Conte "understands" the situation but if things get worse then that can obviously change’’

It’s all that ITK so as much chance as being wrong as right but logically this would make sense as to why Conte joined and why we ain’t spending. Looks like we fucked the deal for money up from the sounds of this.
Haven’t we heard stuff like this before. Just don’t buy it that some squirt on a forum would know.

But it's only Spurs who seem to make what looks a straightforward transfer seem painfully impossible.

Granted, I don't pay THAT much attention to other clubs but Villa have been linked to two players in the last week and both of them were complete within days of the original link.

Maybe we're not in for Traore, maybe all the noise is bullshit. But if we are, for the figures being mentioned. it really shouldn't be this hard to get done. This brinkmanship might make financial sense in the short term, but long term it's killing us.

After a CL and PL title playing good football that seems a little harsh...
:pochwtf:

I think they're somewhat clouded by the absurd fee Barca gave them for Coutinho that effectively paid the massive fees for Van Dijk and Allson (and improved them overall). Liverpool have also had the knack of good scouting as opposed to our habit of spaffing on shite. Chucking money into a pit isn't always the solution, as Man United are illustrating.

We could really have done with a Mane... Salah... Jota... etc.

They were always going to do this, FSG haven't historically invested that much into their sports teams and have used the money ball approach. The windfall they received from the Countinho money was used very well but they're going to need another sale like that to push on which I can't see happening.

Their arguement would be that they won the CL and PL so they are completely justified to not pushing the boat out but the fans won't agree and will always want them to compete.

Everyone has a saga, I think people just tend to be biased because we constantly read about Spurs but in truth it happens to everyone

Utd chased Sancho for 2 years for example.
