Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's common nature that we'll be linked with every Serie A player under the sun now. To be fair, there is a fair few I'd be happy with as well.

Brozovic, De Vrij and a back up striker would be a good January window. If you could add a creative midfielder to that then it's an excellent window.

4 top class players in January (!) would be virtually unprecedented for any club!

.....I'd be over the moon with 2 out of 4.

Brozovic and Vlahovic would be the best 2 if are going to get any two. Brozovic is a top class deep lying playmaker who would transform our midfield in that we don’t have anyone like that. Vlahovic to give Kane and Son proper competition. Other areas we can kind of live with for now but those two we are very light.

Not sold on Brozovic. He might work but he’s 28, so if he’s expensive, he better be a success. I admit I haven’t seen him play. Can he keep up with the pace in the EPL? Many mids our good decision makers with time but not as much under the pressure you face in the EPL.

Vlahovic is a no brainer.

Would Brozovic depend on whether Conte wants to go 352 v 343? At Chelsea he won the league playing mostly 343 and has started out that way for us. He might think 343 is better for Premier League football (I have no idea, just guessing).

*Edit - That is to say, if Brozovic is a player that needs to be part of a central 3 (and I am not certain about that either).

I think he went to 3-4-3 at Chelsea because of the players that were already there not because he went in wanting to play that.

At every other place he has gone with a base 3-5-2 and I expect that to be the case here because a 3-4-3 does not suit us at all and would require more changes to the team including moving on from Kane and not buying Vlahovic.

I think he has gone with the 3-4-3 for the past week because we were already playing a 4-3-3 for most of the season and he wasn't coming in to make massive changes before having time with the team.

I’d be content in January with a CB and attacker that Conte was comfortable incorporating into the starting 11 quickly.

We could use more than that, especially a midfielder, but if we are truly in line to get Kessie in the summer I’d understand not getting one in January.
