Managed just 5 league games a few seasons ago. Played one so far this season. Often late for training, hasn't managed 10 league goals since his debut season in France. Lots of reasons not to go for him the more I think about it, though he can be great when fit to play.

Said said in your last post: "One of those where if Conte sees a role for him and gives his approval, I'd be all for it."

I'd concur with that, but otherwise no thanks to Traore.

Re: Recruitment priorities.... Depends whether Conte's ultimate goal is 343 or 532. If the latter; then even more reason to emphasise MF (caveat being yes we need a 2nd ST, but Traore certainly ain't that.).

....Even then I'd argue we need goal-scoring attackers, rather than non-scoring wingers.

He seems pretty wedded to the 3-4-3 at the moment .. think he prefers that in the Prem, might be simply due to our personnel issues but I wouldn't be surprised if he continues with it. If we were to get a genuinely good goal-scoring forward on the right and then have Adama bombing forward on the overlap I think it could work .... big defensive worries though so we'd need to balance that out. Could be a good utility player.

Say we sold Berg for 20m or whatever, if we then went and got Adama for 30 I'm very happy. Big upgrade.

Swedish press are now running with the Kulusevski out of Juve rumours. It is us and the goons that are the main destinations apparently. Juve want to get back as much as possible on what they paid for him, and Kulusevski wants to move to a club that will allow him to play as a 9.

We need depth in that position and Paratici knows Kulusevski so I would not be too surprised if this actually happens.
A Spurs only team on Fifa Ultimate Team is looking rather spicy if we got him.

Tbh..... You're bouncing between wanting "attackers" to him being a "WBs" with "big defensive worries" that would "need balancing elsewhere"..... All for the sake of a "utility player" to replace Bergwijn on the bench.

I'm still conscious that there's only so much we'll be able to do in Jan, so would prefer to focuss on absolute priorities.

(If we could do a football manager-esque and do 10 in / 10 out in one sweep then maybe I'd view things differently, but as we know that's FM; not realistic.......)

Not sure tbh, I do remember reading that somebody involved with Dortmund was appalled at the condition he left his apartment in.
If memory serves me right he was renting a house from/through Klopp. And when Dembele left for Barcelona Klopp had to front the bill to clean it all up or something like that. Old Jürgen was not too happy about that.

I'm cool with Traore as both. He's played both roles in the past, and we need better squad players. Look at the other top clubs and what players they can bring in when they have injuries or need someone to change a game. Adama fits in to that category, him coming on is far more likely to be impactful than Bergwijn. Also rotates well in other competitions and will get starts.

If Bergwin leaves then we need another attacker regardless, right? We should absolutely have the ability to sign a few players, that's not FM it happens regularly!

I think that's a crazy idea.

We need to some footballers that aren't utter nitwits.

I dunno, Conte had Victor Moses as RWB in a title winning team. If Traore was going cheap-ish, I'd say he's a better player than Moses and his raw athelticism is pretty awesome for a wing-back in the Premier League. Would be levels above what we currently have in that position.

Lamptey is the man I hope we go for, but he will cost a lot of dough I think. Worth it though.

Weren't you saying in other threads you don't expect us to get much done in Jan?

...Besides, I didn't say we couldn't sign players; I said I want us to focus on key priorities.

If we come out of Jan with a CM & ST I'll be chuffed. If Bergwijn leaves; he can make room for the later (we'll pressumably need a non-HG player to leave to make that happen afterall).

That's because of low expectations!

I don't see a striker coming in, but that's because I think we'll go big for a top one in the summer. Maybe if said top one is available come Jan that'll change. Best chance is for a CM I think, and anything else I'm pretty happy with.

We need an ST2 regardless; that's what I was alluding to.

Come the summer we'll need 2 STs if Kane goes.

Please God! :contepray:

I don't get the fit.

He is a right winger that is on big wages and out injured all the time. Under someone who is playing with a front 3 maybe, he is a clear upgrade on Moura, but in Conte's 3-5-2 I don't see the fit. I don't think he scores enough to play in the front 2 or has the skills to play in the midfield.

Maybe as a RWB but he doesn't seem like a player that would want to do the tracking back needed. Although his attacking ability would be intriguing in that role.
