Why is that trolling..... It's just facts (scary, huh!) and we are readily comparred to them; with them being help up as an example of how we should operate. So why not have that convo?

I think Conte sees our attacking play coming through wingbacks. He’ll favour an ‘industrious’ midfield rather than an overly creative one. Think Skipp will be his main man.
I think it's clear how Conte sees the squad.
NOT TRUSTED: Ndombele, Lo Celso, Dele, Rodon, Doherty, Gil, Bergwijn, Gollini.
These are the players that he has obvious doubts over. Gil probably has time on his side but he needs to stay fit and show he can be useful. Bergwijn played well against West Ham but as usual was immediately injured. Conte will never rely on players who are always injured.
Hopefully we can move on Ndombele and Lo Celso, this has to be the number one priority in terms of outgoings. They never play and when they do they are useless. Their replacing of Dembele and Eriksen is what destroyed this team and we need to accept that they have failed and find at least one new CM who has the qualities to succeed here.

Conte I think also sees creativity coming via automation/patterns of play rather than having one guy on the pitch trying to be instinctive.

PEH and Skipp will be first choice.

I think Conte is warming up to Bergwijn based on recent comments and Gil was injured then immediately brought on as sub in a big moment against Southampton. So I think he wants Gil around.

Replacing at least one of Ndombele, Gio or Dele with someone of genuine dependable quality would go SUCH a long way though.....
We really can't muddle through the rest of what will be a busy, congested season with just Winks, Skipp & PEH on rotation.

I agree but if Ajax offer £20m for Steve is Conte going to insist that we turn it down? We have to be pragmatic. Bergwijn has serious injury issues.

State of this.
Our chief playmaker will probably be a more traditional Italian "regista". A deep lying playmaker like how he used Brozovic and Eriksen at Inter and now Winks for us. Someone that can ping balls out to the wingbacks or onto the strikers. And Skipp and Pierre (at least for now) will have the Barella role as ball winners further up in midfield driving into the opposing box.
