The money we are down by is oddly similar to the money we got for being in the CL for 4 seasons....
I don't dispute the season with no fans hit our plans but I don't believe it's the main driver. The main driver is a lack of success on the pitch for 3 years. And that lack of success is from repeatedly buying shit.
It's a vicious cycle.

Come on, stop doing this. Of course we're down the Champs league money. But we're also down, gate receipts, match consumption (food beer etc), plus the 20 additional shows and NFL etc. There's potential another £75 million there along with not getting the champs league money

Also - if we wait for the stadium to to start making the money you think it will, we will be too late, fall further behind, lose Conte and have an absolute mountain to climb.

If there is wiggle room now, to use the FFP situation to our advantage, it should be done. We need to hedge our bets now, while we have an elite coach and 2-4 players we can still call decent. If we don't, and we we wait for the stadium to make money and use that, we'll be back to a Nono level coach, we'll have the likes of Gollini as our no.1, Kane and Son will be off and we'll be an absolute joke,

We're at that juncture now where it's sink or swim.

I agree with you, the club / Levy really do need to do everything they can to support Conte out of this mess. I don't for one minute believe that Conte was promised the earth and now all of a sudden that money isn't there. The club knows it can sign players and spread the payments over 4 or 5 years, so signing a £50 million player is £10 million per year for 5 years + wages.

I would much rather see us sign 2 or 3 class players each year than the scattergun approach. I think we're past that now, we need to start acting like a big club. It's Levy's last chance and i think he knows it, if he doesn't back Conte the fans will really turn on him.

Let's see what happens.....

A bunch of peeps have been banging on about Traore for ages now....... Some even before Nuno and the whole Wolves connection.

I'd say 15M a year helps........

but agreed, he does look frustrated.

it'd be nice to see a few solid links to a CM and Forward.

I'm not gonna lose my mind about Villa and Newcastle signing players we're not interested in.

it's about us, we certainly do need 3 in this month. I accept it's tough in Jan, Top targets like Pau Torres etc can't happen till the summer. but if we need to push the boat out by an extra 5M say to get Kessie or whoever, we need to do it now.

Levy surely gets though? he's not stupid. it's in his benefit for us to do well and make the CL.

if we get top 4 the extra cash spent now is paid for.

He's not stupid, but he's a cunt. I'd say that's even worse.

I think Conte knows we need four, fix or six new players, but also knows that's not going to happen. We probably have to sell before we can spend big bucks, but who in the right mind is going to give us a lot of money for some of our donkeys?

They all amount to more than Scarlett. Keep in consideration that all the strikers should be compared to the standing of their own club, not to ours. So lets go, for Ligue 1 as example:

My point was little more than some presumably are youth or lacking "experience"....

PSG: Mbappe, Icardi (both of very high experience)
Nice: Gouiri, Dolberg, Delort, Guessand (Guessand is youth, but still with more game time than Scarlett)
Marseille: Milik, Dieng (we know the first one, dont we? - Dieng 21 yo has 4 in 14 games)
Rennes: Laborde, Guirassy, Tchaouna, Abline, Güclü (Guirassy is back up, 15m transfer - last three are youth)
Montpellier: Germain, Gioacchini, Makouana, Guermouche (Germain is well known, Gioacchini 21 yo US national player and 600 min league experience this season - last two are youth)
Lens: Kalimuendo, Ganago, Sotoca, Jean, Balde (last one youth, others a good mix of experience)
Monaco: Ben Yedder, Volland, Boadu, Isidor (three decent players, last one youth)
Strassburg: Ajorque, Diallo, Gameiro, Mothiba, Waris (some known names, we wanted to get this Diallo I believe last summer)
Nantes: Kolo Muani, Coulibaly, Augustin (also well known, Augustin fell off hard after the Leeds transfer)
Lille: David, Weah, Yilmaz, Bica (last one is youth, others high profile)
Lyon: Dembele, Slimani + converted Toko Ekambi (both are well known, Slimani was at Leicester)
Angers: Ali-Cho, Bahoken (Ali-Cho is just 17, but a regular, came from Evertons youth, Bahoken has more experience)
Brest: Mounie, Cardona, Le Douaron, Badji, Said (more than enough players)
Reims: Toure, Ekitike, Hornby, Koffi, Donis (more than enough players, low quality however, but they are also 14th placed)
Clermont: Bayo, Hamel, Tell (Tell is unexperienced)
Troyes: Touzghar, Suk, Chadli (Touzghar is a starter, Suk played in Portugal and Netherlands)
Bordeaux: Hwang, Niang, Maja, Mara, Briand (good depth)
Lorient: Moffi, Grbic, Soumano (Grbic was loaned out as Soumano is young and promising)
Metz: Niane, de Preville, Joseph (Joseph is youth)
St Etienne: Khazri, Ramirez, Krasso, Hamouma (a few known names)

Its similar in the other 4 leagues.
All players from this list have more experience than Scarlett.
Its not just us, how refreshing, so we also have West Ham.

But lets have a look at the 19/20 season. The back-up was Troy Parrott.
And the same goes for the 15/16 season. Seemingly, NJie was the back-up. We just had potent goalscorers in Dele and Eriksen.

Its the third season in seven seasons that we dont have another centre forward if Kane gets injured.

Yup... We def. need one. 👍

(Props for all the info btw)

We could be, but we're tied up with the 'agreements' between the big agents and the deals Paratici has made. There's clearly a lot of lock-in once you're dealing with Mendes. I'd love to know what percentage of available players we could actually obtain at any given moment.

Were any of our signings in the summer on Mendes list?

I was under the impression not, but happy to be corrected......

Joking aside, it’s genuinely absurd that the club’s principle media stooge feels the need to entertain this idea, let alone publish a statement around it.

What's more, to then in the same day also make a polar statement about the club not being worried about Conte walking......

Ali G is a weird old chap...... Alleged club mouth piece that doesn't think twice of contradicting himself, the suspected party line or stoking troublesome rumours.

Liverpool fans are starting to turn on FSG (#FSGOut trending on Twitter) for not spending money and buying more players, it's funny FSG are a bit like ENIC, they go for the money ball approach of value and would rather see a sustainable ROI than losses.
