Are there no financial depths to which Levy won't sink to in order not to spend. Considering the state of our squad, I find this extremely insulting. W
It is now quite clear that with this man in charge, we are going absolutely nowhere. I give up.

Spurs have made a move for non-league Lewes' English winger Ollie Tanner in an effort to beat Premier league rivals Brighton to the 19-year-old's signature. (Athletic - subscription required)

But how do you strangle it in the cradle? They have to write rules that are tacitly applied fair and equal. The Saudis aren't just going to write a cheque out to cash and spend it on footballers.

They'll follow the Citeh model. St. James Park will get the biggest naming rights deal in history to convert to Saudi British Bank St. James Park. The shirt sponsor will be Flynas, also the most lucrative (*just low enough to be justifiable, sort of) kit deal in history. They'll use Aramco back channels to leverage massive sponsorships from energy companies. They'll show approximately £500M in annual commercial income on the books and take it all as a loss back home where no one cares.

So, how do you strangle it? Doing so would require rules that tear down City and PSG's house of cards as well. And require scrutiny of the dodgy AF accounts at Madrid and Barcelona. Chelsea might skirt the line, just because they've developed decently high value non-doped revenue streams now that they doped their way up first.

And if you go after all those clubs, they'll just start the ESL and tell UEFA and FIFA both to do one. They're going to eventually, anyway, but the execs at UEFA and FIFA are just hoping to see out their careers before the bribes stop flowing.
Well the “how” is banning them from the Champions League. Which is a real punishment under whatever framework you use to look at these clubs.

And the rules don’t impact the existing petro clubs because they’ve crossed the bridge into being massive money spinners, fake sponsorships aside. The rules protect the aristocracy, which they’ve already bought their way into.

City got in trouble for their practices even as a fully functional superclub, but there’s no question their rise in 2010-12 would have violated not-yet-existant FFP.

Plus Newcastle are in worse shape and the price of players has massively inflated.

The equivalent move would be for them to go out and buy 5-6 60M plus players in the summer. And then do it again the next summer, until the league is theirs. I don’t think that’s what will happen, I think they’ll have to make do with a level of on-paper financial losses that keeps UEFA off their ass. They by no means need or plan to operate “sustainably” but there’s now a purported outer limit to plunging outside financing into the club. We’ll see, time will tell.

I'd be happy with:-
Outs
Lo Celso sold/loan
Ndombele Loan with option to buy
Dele Alli loan

Ins
Wijnaldum and Icardi as part of Ndombele Loan deal.
Adama Traoré

Sure we'll have a few other random youngster out on loan too, and maybe one other youngster in
Wijnaldum supposedly an Woolwich supporter... For some reason that doesn't feel good... hasn't worked very well in recent years with Woolwich supporters...

Even if they didn't leave they would be strong candidates.
This certainly showcases one very-very important thing that Spurs ignored here: personality background check-up!
As mentioned before, just a quick google search would show that Ndombele lacked the proper mentality/attitude to live upto his potential - for Spurs at least. I would not be surprised if he hits the ground at PSG, know that if he does well they may even pay him more...

Still difficult to tell. We could buy Vlahovic tomorrow, he would do well then knowing our luck on a big contract just lazy around and within a season or two become part of the deadwood, it’s the Spurs way.

Exactly. It boils my piss that these cunts have come here, put their feet up and are now set for life.

Official site said loan with an option.

Loan with an option if we didn't qualify for Europe, obligation if we did.

It was basically a ploy so Betis could pot more cash the following Summer. Reports say we paid them something like £16m for the loan and there's an obligation to buy for a lower fee if we qualified for Europe which meant the PSG sell on clause was massively reduced.
