I get that it was a ploy but we still had chance to pull the plug. There is nothing official about qualifying for Europe it was still a loan with an option, no matter how shady.Loan with an option if we didn't qualify for Europe, obligation if we did.
It was basically a ploy so Betis could pot more cash the following Summer. Reports say we paid them something like £16m for the loan and there's an obligation to buy for a lower fee if we qualified for Europe which meant the PSG sell on clause was massively reduced.
Very good reader of the game.

It's amazing how we can't get that leech Ramsey out of our balls.hmmm Aaron Ramsey anyone? Juve say he isnt in the squad because he is leaving.
This. And therin lies the reason we are so utterly shit in the market, its all who a favoured agent is touting rather than thought through, scouted, what the team needs.
If this is true we must have incomings lined up. Surely we're not going to end the window weaker than we started it, right?
Right?
Right?!

More likeSpurs have enquired about Vlahovic.
Here's how that conversation went...
Levy to Vlahovic's agent / Fiorentina Chairman: "How's Dusan?"
Reply: "He's well thanks"
End of conversation.
I understand you don't like Paratici, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve credit for what he did at Juve. And, again, I am aware of some of the mess he left behind at Juve. And that Juve is a big club not just in Italia but in the world so they do have an advantage. He did mixed work (ending in a lot of failure .. including lumbering them with a bunch of very mediocre, high wage players) at a side who have a lot of pull in Serie A and could afford to attract Cristiano Ronaldo. He was also operating in a league and country he understood well. I don't see how this translates to being highly successful in England operating at Spurs.
I'm sure he was 'consulted', but there's no way he had a part in picking out Emerson. He needed a right back and was given one. It wasn't like he went and asked for him, no chance was he able to make requests for players. Why would he? The guy was a last second, desperate appointment and we sacked him in no time. As for systems, Nuno played 5 at the back, counter attacking football every season apart from one at Wolves, came here and suddenly it was about 4-3-3 and Tottenham DNA. He wasn't given freedom or support at all.
