Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Next summer is perhaps more of an indicator than last on many fronts.

Here's the reasons why I believe this, and if anyone disagrees then fine:

1: Conte is in place, working with Paratici right from the start. They should both be planning and working on the next window already. No time wasted on a manager search (he says, hopefully).
2: Our first summer after a full season in the new stadium with little to no Covid impact. We've had boxing, NFL etc. All matches open to full capacity, whether or not attendance was 100%. We came into this season after losing one and a half season's income. Without a sugar daddy owner, this hurts.
3: Less future uncertainty around Covid. Let's remember, during the summer it wasn't clear if there were going to be fans in stadiums, or how much capacity would be reduced. How does a club which depends entirely on income mitigate this? You have to assume Levy would have been cautious because we could have found ourselves refunding another season's worth of ST money etc. City and Chelsea wouldn't have bothered about this, but it's a simple fact we do. As it turns out, COVID hasn't resulted in shutdowns or lockdowns and now it probably won't in the future either. You'd have to assume that increases the budget going forward.

I'm not saying these are excuses for last summer's poor moves, but it's at least why I have at least a tiny bit of hope things might change this summer. Not massively, I don't mean I have any expectation we're going to go mental in the market.

John is little more than a highly sanctimonious, self-professed shit stirrer anyway, fella... I wouldn't dedicate too much thought to this exchange.
As you can probably see BringBack_leGin BringBack_leGin , I'm not the first name on Airfixx Airfixx ' Christmas card list

Some will never get it. I can tell you what comes next. You going to be told you don't know what you talking about. Then some Arsephobe will accuse you of supporting Woolwich.... For me it's Great to see other people who actually want a truely Great squad to compliment the Great Manager.

For those who buy the Spurs Shirt for 70-80 pounds and spend a few Hundred quid to watch a game, while being Happy watching Doherty and Royal, you have to have your head read.
Forgive us if we don’t heed the almighty wisdom of someone who disagreed with and started arguing with a post they didn’t realize was their own.

Easily top 5 dumbest things I’ve seen on here and that’s no mean feat considering I’ve been in the politics thread.

Yeh, we need something else other than your fat lazy ass too.... Stay fucked off.

Overall I don't think it's been a bad transfer window, considering the majority of fans for a long time have wanted the likes of Ndombele, Dele, Lo Celso out of the club for a quite a while it's promising news. Clearly they were not wanted and must have been causing a few issues around the club so from outgoings I'm happy.

The two Juve players are good players, I'm sure they will add a lot to a first 11 which really isn't that bad. Apart from getting outplayed by Chelsea since Conte has arrived, on the whole the players who have been playing have been pretty good. You don't go 9 games unbeaten if you're a bad group of players.

It frustrates me the whole saga with Adama Traore as we'd been chasing the guy since last June and don't understand why we just didn't pay the money but hey ho it's not the end of the world.

The majority of clubs haven't over spent this January (apart from Newcastle) so I think the summer will be the time to judge.

'Rebuilds' or whatever people call them nowadays don't happen in two windows so it's promising. I do believe the club realised this by setting an example last summer when they took massive losses on Sissoko and Aurier.
Think we've only 'overspent' on Wood, but that was a needs must kind of transfer. Other than Wilson we've only really got Gayle as an out and out striker at the club.

Make no mistake, if Wilson hadn't got injured we wouldn't have considered buying Wood. But he did, so we activated a release clause and got an experienced, bang average PL striker in with the minimum amount of fuss.

All the other transfers are the going rate, right? England rightback and La Liga winner for £12m? Young promising Brazilian international midfielder for £33m? Lower Prem CB for £15m? and a LB on loan.

Good business if you ask me. Especially because that business fills the most pressing holes in our squad. That championship defence now looks lower Prem. That midfield now has mobility and quality. We've now got some depth up front.

End of the day we've done better business than all the teams around us, so I'm happy.

Hows the ABBA tribute night shaping up?

......Didn't take long for you lot to turn your back on the leagues equality initiatives did it?

Filthy club.

Everyone hates, Nu-castle.

A Macdonalds I imagine.

Notice how after 5 seasons with one manager, the carousel started turning in sync with our record signing’s arrival…

This is him in a teapot. Takes responsibility for nothing, no introspection at all. Same as on the pitch, took responsibility for the square route of fuck all.

Hopefully his use of the past tense means all and sundry are taking it as a given that he’s not coming back.

I don't think anybody asked how the oil clubs did.
