Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our structure failed him. Simple as that. Pochettino was so dreadful at creating a path way to the first team for our best youth players that our most talented pretty much up and walked for better opportunities.

We failed him.

And yet there is this crazy belief Poch would suddenly improve our youth set up.
But let's be serious here, Poch was sacked in 2019. This kid would have been barely 17. There aren't many 17 year olds playing for CL finalists.

Realistically - we're getting Poch.

Better sooner than later, cause our current play is fucking depressing AND we will also lose our talented youngsters on top of hottest properties (such as Kane)....

But generally... whoever except for Nuno. I'd take Harry fucking Redknapp back if needed. Right now there is not single thing that is working.
Results - shit and spiralling downwards
How we play - shit
Atmosphere in and around club - shit
Treating of youngsters - shit
Furure expectations - extremely short term (until end of season)

If everything is shit, we'd better change if we don't want it to go even worse.
I’ve ordered the shovel !!

It wasnt that he wasn't given a chance at 16. It was that he had seen what came before him with talented young players and saw it was clear his development would have been hindered if he stayed.

No loans, no competitive football, no pathway. Nothing.

Zaniolo update: Roma won't sell or loan this window

Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol on The Transfer Show:
"Zaniolo has been linked with a move to Spurs from Roma. The information we had just before the show started was that he could leave Roma this month and they would allow him to leave for around £35m.
"They were willing to let him go on a permanent or a loan with an obligation. The clubs interested were Spurs, West Ham and Borussia Dortmund in the background.
"Spurs interested in signing him on loan plus an obligation to buy deal.
"But just before we came on air, I received an update that said 'no offer from Spurs, Roma won't sell or loan this window'.
"Although other sources, especially at Sky in Italy, said Roma were prepared to let him go for around £35m."

What talented young players? Who has gone on to prove us wrong? Walker-Peters the only possibility. Edwards was talented but lazy and the academy chiefs didnt want him rewarded. He played Winks, he played Skipp Carter-Vickers and Onomah not good enough. You cant magic up talent that isnt there.

This is the catch 22. You can't make kids good at football.
Moaning at coaches for not playing youth isn't the problem. Most coaches know if the kids are good enough and give them games.
Conte has played Gil, Sarr, Skipp, White, Tanganga, Devine in his time here.
It's up to them to prove/keep proving they're worthy of game time.

Gil and Sarr were signed for big money and more advanced. Skipp was established. Devine has played about 1 minute. People need to realise our youth team has been poor to utter shite for a while. Most nowhere near good enough.

You fail to develop youngsters correctly and they're going to have a hard time. Imagine if we actually loaned KWP our at a younger age instead of wasting crucial development years having him train with our first team.

Off the back of absolute horrendous youth development it's a testament to their ability that KWP is a consistent Prem player and Edwards and Madueke went on to play Champions League football.

Now imagine if they were actually developed properly. Given game time and proper loans to see how they can hope?

Who knows.

Do you think Chelsea just leave their best youth drowning playing youth football? Or do they try and get them to play competitive men's football as young as possible?

Luckily, we're doing right by Dane. Let's not fail Devine too.

"what talented young players" is such a lazy argument. If they didn't live up to their talent, then we've failed them. We haven't developed them properly. We've not provided the tools needed to be a success at this club or elsewhere.
