Funny thing is we can pretty much spend what we want due to FFP. We have one of the richest owners in football yet act like skint spivs.

400m FFP figure doesn't mean there's literally a 400m pot of unspent cash sat there.

We don't have "one of the richest owners in football".......... They're not "acting skint"; they just decided some time ago to only spend club money on the club..... Until last summer when they put 150m in.

False.

Correction: they choose to have the club's skyrocketing asset value accrue to their personal capital holding rather than being reinvested in the business like every other peer club.

Well people have been crying that they'd only invested 30 of their own money...... Bank loans for the stadium etc. 150m in the summer.... What other funds have they been spending then?

Of course but it means they can invest in the club, which you note they don't and is my point. And it means we have room to kick on if we want.
We do have one of the richest owners in football. Joe Lewis' personal net worth is 5.2 billion.
They actually drew £100m out of £150m. So, contrary to reports, only injected £100m for transfers
Edit: just had a butchers on Google Lewis is the 43rd richest man on the planet. This is of excluding other "worth" held in the club which can't be attributed to him.

Fair enough......

Usually when people cite that FFP figure they want it to mean available to spend.

We do have one of the richest owners in football. Joe Lewis' personal net worth is 5.2 billion plus his share in Tottenham which is 75%.

vs the likes of City/PSG/NC/Chavs and then the spending power of Man U, RM etc. we're effectively rendered 3rd tier wealth.

They actually drew £100m out of £150m. So, contrary to reports, only injected £100m for transfers

It's there invested in the company at this point; if you're claiming it's not been spent yet then fair enough...... Not worth bickering over that aspect of things.

Tis' not and I like you anyway... 😘

I do agree though. Leicester are a club who have investment from the owner completely at the expense of prudential finance. It is a mess in terms of accounts. I am not calling for a pump without regard to the sound accounting.

Although Leicester have actually won shit recently so maybe...

Edit: what I mean by this is the owner pumped a lot of money in the club and gambled that Leicester would increase their revenues after winning the league not only initially but consistently. This included spending beyond the club's means (i.e. revenue) in the transfer market. This has caused them shit now. They did initially increase revenue but it fell a lot after.
