Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

doesn't stop us trying, and I am sure we will. The number of good players or players with potential is limited. Our best chances may be a youngster to loan back.

Most likely position to fill imo is a midfield player if Hojbjerg leaves, but nobody wants to pay much for Hojbjerg as Spanish/Itsalian clubs say they have no money. And not too many decent players available - hence most players transferred in summer

atm we expect to have 2 squad player places empty from Lloris and Dier which look to be filled by Dragusin and Werner.
I think we’ll sign a midfielder that will fit our style rather than be a big name if Hojbjerg goes. The Werner signing shows that we don’t have a clue what’s going on behind the scenes.

Try watching Nunes at Liverpool. Quick, misses loads of chances, has to shoot even if a pass is on.
Paid up to 80m for him. 4 pl goals this season,
The likes of Danny Murphy saying he will come good. If he wasn’t at Liverpool I doubt he would say that.
I don’t for one minute think we will sign Werner in the summer. He is plugging a gap. At the cost of his wages we have a forward who could do a good job.
Could be a clever signing, I just hope he can stay onside.

Radu Dragusin transfer to Spurs seems to be said to be all but done by Fabrizio Romano - just a 'here we go' missing.

But if it doesn't a few rumours suggest 26 year old Japan CB Ko Itakura, currently at Borussia Monchengladbach, and previously at ManCity who can play both RCB as well as LCB (as can Dragusin) is one of the next on the list of possibilities.

Hopefully we announce Dragusin in the next few days though !

That would be a really unhelpful signing considering he's away at the Asian cup.

Most of our signings are generally relatively young and hungry, yet with some experience (eg Van de Ven) , can't think of too many big name signings in last couple of years other than maybe Romero, so agreed not a big name signing.

Pre window I thought we'd try to get, either on loan or permanent signing 3 players - CB, midfield and forward - if we could. So no surprise if we do get a midfield player, but I think its only if a midfield player leaves as our current midfield options are decent - Maddison, Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Skipp, Lo Celso, Hojbjerg, (7 players) - with most likely one of Lo Celso or Hojbjerg to leave for a fee.

Have you ever tried one whilst having your face sat on by a lady wrestler?

No?

..........Well; there you go then.
I have!!

Cost of his wages.....
And a loan fee.....
And a squad space for someone who might be better.

I think all those fans that are climbing all over Johnson and Richarlison for being wasteful (often unfairly as they seem to be the 2 main threats) are gonna have a new boy to lay in to tbh

I think this geezer is trying to flex over the Conference League. UEFA's equivalent of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

If Spam are the best club in a competition it is not worth winning.

:king:

But to add, we were as threadbare as the Pikey's for talented game changers coming off the bench for a decade or more.

Imagine (or not) had Poch been given the financial backing like Ange has, after he told Lineker that he wanted new furniture?

Poch wanted to shop at The Sofa & Chair Company, and Levy gave him a gift card for Ikea.

Not trying to rake up old stuff, but at a time the team peaked, Poch new that replacements were needed, and so to dis Jose and Conte.

Only now has Levy changed his tune.

Mate that's bollocks..... Poch had:

Kane, Son, Dele, Eriksen, Lamela, + the likes of Llorente, Jansen, Andros, Chadli, GKN, N'Jie & young'ns in and out of the mix (depending on the time stamp).

............Tell me when WH have EVER had that much quality to select from in attack? ........Let alone us having us having as poor a squad as theirs "for a decade or more".

Then what’s the point? We could have Tanganga and Rodon if we want sub-par CBs.
Those two were not good enough but we can buy better CBs without them being CL quality.
He played in a CL QF(?) just a couple of year ago and was excellent.
Skipp played well against AC Milan does that mean he is CL quality? Sissoko and Winks were they CL quality? You don't think if Werner was playing so great Leipzig would want to keep him?
Like I said, I hope he does very well for us but at the moment he's a player off form.
