Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well said. I've always thought you were fairly 'middle of the road' when it came to the ownership.
The response you got just exposes the insane hysteria some posters show when anyone dares make a critical observation of the man. Even if made in jest.

'Levy ain't perfect and his shit don't smell of roses"

Nah,

I posted a question in good faith about our youth prospects and got a weird response about sounding like Daniel Levy.

From SKY Germany:

"The talks between Tottenham and Werner, especially with Ange, gave him already more self-confidence and he's really thrilled [for] the transfer," says Hinze. "It's not like the mood that he comes to Tottenham now [is] with the head down. He's looking forward.

"It's his last chance to be on the Euros [squad], so he has to be a good player in the second part of the season."

"Nagelsmann knows how good he can be, how cold he can be, how fast he can be, how good he can be during counter-attacks," says Hinze. "But of course, the Germany squad have really good attackers. Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Kai Havertz... They are guys with good form, a good mood.

I don't understand WHY they might want him? It makes no sense to me...unless they want Portuguese speaking clogger..
Andy Brassell basically said his lack of pace would be less of a concern in Germany and that they want a player who can play CB & DM which Dier has in the past. He’s obv quite intelligent and multi lingual and I’d say Kane’s put a word in.

They were considering giving boateng a contract so tbh it’s not their worst option. He’s cheap and Kane’s most likely put in a good word for his character .

He won’t play every week - much like Werner a punt when they need bodies.

He was a good player at one point, I know we often forget

This isn't a risk, it's fucking INEVITABLE
Eh. I get it, he's had a rough time staying on the field this year between injury & suspension.

Romero has had 4 reds for us, the Chelsea one the only straight red. There was a second yellow late in a match vs City that we won, and 2 yellows vs AC Milan and Vitesse respectively. I'm not convinced he is the loose cannon he is being made out to be.

Werner just needs some confidence building imo. Chelsea are a toxic club and probably too many egos in dressing room. I hope and think he will do well as leipzig press under naglesmann he was great and similar to ange tactics.

It seems like you’re just thinking that because you want to?

Green light from @SpursOfficial. Everything is prepared. Bayern just needs to make the final decision for Dier. @SkySportDE 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

But sure okay…

So I said "levy probably wants to get a few million"
You then post a link that shows he's getting a few million.
But somehow I'm making things up.

If you're confused about the rest of my post, I suggested he wouldn't let Dier go on a free unless he knew he absolutely ran out of selling options.
Yes but chelsea under Abramovich just signed players so we couldnt have them. Think we were after werner a few years ago then they signed him. But chelsea now have ended up with jackson after all that. 😀
This is exactly why KDB and Salah "failed" At Chelsea.
It was nothing whatsoever to do with talent. They didn't need them, they just signed them so others couldn't have them.
Before the limit on players you could loan out, Chelsea had over 40 in one season once. Not only could they outpay everyone for fees and salaries, they could also just keep the better players away from their rivals even when they didn't need them.

Even though they continue to swerve FFP, they at least can't hoard talent anymore

Next season at least , probably two.
So if you think he might only have a season left, he needs replacing, no?

He's been a solid pro, a worthy deputy at times and I think he will be remembered as an unsung hero in years to come. But he's not really suited to this system - he's just doing a job and getting us over the line. We need someone faster and younger to carry on doing what he's been doing. That's more my point. With this one almost 31, we need a new Ben Davies. Versatile and dependable.
