Not once have I seen that.

Woy always has a couple of dull grafty MFers in there with him.

......You mean the Maddison that (casting aside shirt numbers and what does or doesn't constitute 433) is playing the role of our one true attacking MFer?

Huh?

That's exactly what he sees him as..... I'd have thought that was totally obvious.

As already pointed out Ange has yet to show an inclination to do this..........

Eze would play instead of - not alongside - Maddison.

it depends on the opposition

If you want someone who is 'busy' , which will help out the 6 in the team, you pick Sarr or someone similar as one of the 8's alongside Maddison - but this is when we are playing a top team.

For the majority of PL teams the number 6 (whether Bissouma or Bentancur) doesn't need a Sarr alongside and we can play 2 more creative 8's who could be Maddison and Eze

Sarr is still developing as a player and over next year or two I'd hope his 'creative' side will develop - and that may happen or it may not - allowing him to play different roles within Spurs midfield. His role model should be to become as versatile as Bentancur, for example, who can play both as a 6 or 8, and perhaps as a stretch a 10. Its one reason why I like Devine - he can play as a 10 and also a deep lying playmaker as he is showing whilst on loan, clearly still developing but being able to play multiple roles is a definite advantage for Spurs .

You're still just bogged down in shirt numbers.... He's playing as an attacking MF alongside two less attacking, more attritional players. Likening him to Maddison is doing little more than furthering my argument.

The simple fact of all this is that Ange sees a need in our squad that he thinks Gallagher is the answer to...... Eze doesn't fit that need as he has a different skill-set.

In terms of type of player, we are so blatantly playing:

B2B ------ AM

We don't play with 2 'Maddisons'.

.......Whether you rate Eze more than GLC or Kulusevski isn't the discussion here.

Replacing GLC in the squad with Eze is one thing.

Replacing PEH with Eze upsets the balance of the squad and is counter logical to how Ange is setting us up.

You repeating yourself - and that doesn't mean you are correct !

It's obvious now - despite of what some claimed at the start of the season - that so far Angelos prefer inverted wingers. So Spurs will need another left-footed WF (to compete with Kulusevski).
Gil, however talented he is, doesn't seem to be cut out for the EPL.
I'd choose my WRF from this list.
I am not saying this position right now should be top priority but it should be addressed this summer if not in the January TW.
Sávio I know is owned by the City group so will most probably end up at Man City.
Pedro Neto is injury prone and Spurs have players out injured so I not that keen on him but he's EPL proven.
Bakayoko looks like a very talented prospect but he's be costly and lately few Eredivisie players have made much impact in the EPL.

Johan Bakayoko (PSV)
Pedro Neto (Wolves)
Takefusa Kubo (Real Sociedad)
Matìas Soulè (Juventus)
Sávio (Troyes)

Prospects
Tyler Dibling (Soton)
Roony Bardghji (København)
Diego Moreria (Benfica)
Geovany Quenda (Sporting L.)
Luis Guilherme (Palmeiras)
Estevão Willian (Palmeiras)
Lorran (Flamengo)
William Gomes (São Paulo)
Soule counts as a prospect, he's out on loan and it looks like Juve dont want him.

Yes midfield of bias/bent and say MADDs and eze looks great on paper. People underestimate MADDs defensive capability and desire to track back. At home b low blocks that would be perfect. We don’t need runners like CG in there as we have the FBs and wide forwards to provide that. We need lock pickers like MADDs with cureittke balls or some one like eze who could waltz past a couple of players in tight spaces, I’d much rather have him than CG!

That's still young and he hasn't established himself in the Juve side, that's why he's out on loan.
Spence has also been out on loan basically his whole Spurs career yet he's not a prospect. At 21 Soule is a player who is no longer a prospect IMO as he's matured enough show how far his talent can take him (not entirely, of course).
Dragusin also wasn't good enough for Juve; nor were Bentancur and Kulusevski.

We don't have players on the bench that can turn a game when we're losing, I think that's a big problem that needs fixing.

You might also look at the numbers of injured we have plus 3 at AFCON/Asian Cup, as with those out any side will see a slightly depleted bench.

But if you look at last summer we brought in 4 + players who either immediately (eg Maddison, Van de Ven, Vicario and Udogie) or might in the future (Phillips, Veliz) who generally were or will be an upgrade on players we had,

We will probably do something similar in summer 2024 window, and provided no of injuries go down, the quality on bench will improve

No, I’m not getting bogged down in numbers, I’ve just used them for shorthand, as well as describing the roles and remits I’m talking about.

The simple fact of all this is that Ange sees a need in our squad that he thinks Gallagher is the answer to...... Eze doesn't fit that need as he has a different skill-set.

Yes. I am disagreeing with either a) Ange’s assessment of need, b) his choice of player to address that need.

IMO we have busy cunt who can do a bit of 8 and a bit of 6 and be btb covered.

What we don’t have is another really good 8/AM

I think Eze has the legs to do btb (just like Maddison does it pretty well) but could also be much better in games when we need more creativity on the pitch than just Maddison.

Like ManC, Arse, Liverpool often play with two more creative 8’s.

But we can.

Biss/Ben

Eze——————-Mad
Not all games, but the ones we are against the bus. Or he can switch to that position or come on in games where we need to change for a more attacking approach.

Plus, he can play a couple of other attacking positions really well, starting or in game. And our need for attacking/creative quality, exceeds our need for a deluxe PEH.

Well, it is if I want it to be.

Replacing GLC in the squad with Eze is one thing.

Replacing PEH with Eze upsets the balance of the squad and is counter logical to how Ange is setting us up.

It’s not at all, as I have explained. It’s just an alternative solution.

We have Sarr. We have Skip. We can always buy another Gallagher for cheaper elsewhere. Or buy him as well.

We need more creative quality. More than we need another PEH imo.

But even with those back we still have a lack of players, Veliz ok but Phillips is a defender. Players we get in the summer will probably be 2 or 3 I think, Im unsure what positions they will be.
