Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

For that price I'd have given him a try on a loan to buy instead of Solomon but we have Solomon now and is Sancho going to contribute that much more?

I feel like we might still have space or create space for another forward in next summer's window but given our mistakes filling our squad with failed punts in the past, it could be that they are thinking to fill the next available spot with proper frontline attacker. Is Sancho that type of player?

Can't see us signing more than two in Jan based on previous windows.

2023 - 2 (1 was a loan)
2022 - 2
2021 - 0

If looking at if right now, a centre back and forward would be priority, but a lot of things can change.

Phillips could be the Salford Van Basten, Richarlison could be a reincarnation for Ronaldo...

True but that's not to say he wouldn't be capable of changing his attitude and if he doesnt then just hand him back to united.
Yes, but I think it's quite unlikely, stories of poor work ethic has followed him all his career.

It's also extra unnecessary work for Ange and the coaches. Remember how mourinho did extra work to get ndombele fit.

the 'to go' list can change through a season. however,

lloris, forster, austin, dier and perisic are all out of contract come the 30th of june 2024

rodon, tanganga, spence, reguilon and ndombele will all return (unless the buy clause is activated where applicable)

we will also have devine, scarlett and parrott returning

the u21s like dorrington, phillips and veliz might already be part of the first team by then

if we sign a centre back in january for example, will that block a pathway. same with a centre forward

we should really be looking to sign a solid keeper in january if you ask me, as opposed to waiting until the summer to fill that hole. I know that sounds crazy considering we have 5 keepers in the squad. three will leave though, as I said above, leaving vicario and whiteman. it might be better to settle a new keeper in during the season?
