I get your point, but I respectfully disagree, my man.
Regardless of who was in for him first, us or Bayern...obviously anyone would listen to Bayern when they come calling, same as we'd all listen to the big entities in our respective lines of work. That's his career, he's entitled to his decision.
That notion of him & his agent being a bit mercenary-like and using us to get more out of ze germanz may well be true, but could also just be regular practice, especially in football...but once again, lots of us would do something along those lines to get more money out of our current employer. Doesn't mean you don't love the outfit anymore, you're just looking out for No 1.
I don't know the lad, I don't know what's in his head, what his agent is telling him...perhaps he really wants to join us over them (which would be such a statement win for us/Ange). Personally I don't have that much of an issue with him trying to get us to match/exceed whatever Bayern's offering, he's human. And I don't believe that means he's using us, disrespecting us, that he's a money-whore etc.
Clubs act exactly the same by the way. Whatever they gotta do to save a few bucks, they'll do. A few reporters have, for instance, alluded to the fact that Spurs love to agree personal terms with a player first so they can use that to drive the price down with his club.
Agree. It’s just the game.
