Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yes.

Player might be a different story, but I think generally they pre-agree to the permanent contract when signing on loan, Bayern have no say in the matter if we choose to take up the option.
They do (Bayern have a say), as if he excels and they get in Tels ear that he’ll be a starter next season, they can get him to decline the permanent move, sadly.

Quite interesting that all our recent foreign signings maybe bar Odobert seem to speak good English from day one. Defo seems something they are including in their metrics.

Tel ✅
Danso ✅
Bergvall ✅
Odobert ❓
Dragusin ✅
VDV ✅
Vicario ✅

Controversial take - leaving it too late aside and pending Tel’s performances/whether we can take up the buy option, we secured a likely starting gk for the future, a cb who actually fits our style and one of the best prospects in world football. If it all works out, we might actually regard this window in hindsight as a good one. Weird.
Agree. Tel on a loan with option to buy is a good deal.

It’s clearly about feasting on the opposition, like it, but quite contrived (Think they should have got Danso to say “We’re hungry, let’s eat”, then Tel “we’re hungry, let’s feast” or such).

Did a search = Origins of “I’m hungry, let’s eat”, and it’s virtually a Googlewhack (which is a search with just one result), with two results, Kulu and an Ancestry site due to “Origins”.

So, it appears Kulu did make it up.

Agree with Furball man Furball man that it’s also quite interesting that perhaps there’s an intentional subliminal aspect, to get supporters saying it at games and triggering hunger, which sells food!

Palmer stands out for me, but not the norm admittedly

True - but elite at the time of purchase?

Gvardiol is probably the closest to elite i can think of in the last couple of season but he was 21 when they purchased him - still so young....

Perhaps Rice?

Thats it really -

Clubs are mostly buying players with excellent reputations and taking gambles on the ceilings these players can reach - Yes, some are buying players with more established careers already than some of our signings..... but we are still talking 21-24 year olds most of whom were not elite at the time of purchase and are still not elite now.

I think if you are signing kids from the bigger clubs in the prem and the fee is zero to negligible it rarely ends up them being anything special . As I said Gray was 40 million from Leeds, cheap home grown 18 year olds are usually cheap for a reason
