"Ellite" though? ....I think that's a stretch.
Marmoush is a player who's finally scored his big move and now has to prove he belongs at the top table.
That's not a Mbappe, Vinicius, Lewandowski, Krose, etc. etc. etc.
I asked you the very same question the other day and you had no answer............ Telling that you needed to tenuously stretch to a player from the current window who doesn't really fit the description.
If you are talking about the truly elite players, you don't see many transfers involving them but mainly because there aren't many of them.
I think a lot would agree that getting someone else to add to what we have in midfield is a priority, just not the top priority for this window. Hopefully it will be Archie Gray when he can get back to where he is supposed to be playing. What a weird take!
It’s injury cover and strength in depth when everyone is fit! Guy can play anywhere across the front three which makes him very versatile when Sonny has been off it and we lack options in other areas.
Blokes talking out his toot hole!
So our last 4 January windows we have picked up
Bentancur, Kulusevski, Porro, Danjuma, Dragusin, Werner, Kinsky, Tel and Danso.
Pretty decent bar 2 IMHO -
Worked well for Everton........
..............And (yeh, I'm gonna say it this time cos it absolutely fits) LEEDS.
Well yes; that was the bar set by the person who was complaining.
Marmoush isn't elite with or whithout a capital letter.
......And didn't come to the prem thus furthering the case.
Not me guv.
........BUT even though I don't consider him elite; he's was prem proven (and HG) at that point so as to 'justify' a huge price. Ditto Grealish. They were both 60m players with a LOT of tax....... RM (eg) are NEVER paying that money for either of those two.
The only one I'd throw in from recent history was Haaland... And there's a whole load of caveats attached to how he ended up at City.
Historically - perhaps curiously - the kind of players in question rarely come here.... And a hell of a lot of them leave for the continent should they blossom into "elite" status here.
In all honest; I think the weather plays a big part.
Have to agree. City has not bought many elite players in a while. Gvardiol, Haaland, Dias come to mind."Ellite" though? ....I think that's a stretch.

Exactly. Entertaining melts peaked at that witch from Oz.People pay way too much attention to him, he makes reactionary content for teenagers...no one should take him seriously.
If Woolwich or Liverpool or Utd had the window we just had, he’d be lauding it all over the shop.
Hahaha, what a muppet. Made me think of the Big Lebowski. If Woolwich or Liverpool or Utd had the window we just had, he’d be lauding it all over the shop.
Come on, you're better than that. I'm asking the owners to change their risk profile, which they need to do as much as their opinion of worth of the club. Not be reckless. There is a huge difference between spending our wage levels v turnover and theirs. Not sure it even needs explaining.
It seems pretty likely that Gray is shaping up to be an elite CDM. By the time he's bulked up in a few years, he'll be there or thereabouts.IF Tel works out then all we need up front in the summer is Mbeumo
Then possibly a CB if Romero leaves (we should cash in if he doesn’t want to be on the bus)
And a highly rated prospect LB
Ideally also an elite CDM, though we won’t get that, so put Gray there as starter next season
