They need to qualify for Europe every season just to survive. It's an all your eggs in one basket strategy and they are backing themselves to win something big for it to be sustainable over a longer period.Villa's transfer strategy is mental and totally unsustainable, they've already reached their ceiling until they can increase their revenue.
A bit of Leeds early 2000’s about this…Villa's transfer strategy is mental and totally unsustainable, they've already reached their ceiling until they can increase their revenue.
They are banking on it to pass PSR not survive, their owner would be pumping in more money if they could. They've shown they are apt at dodgy PSR transfer fees. They need to qualify for Europe every season just to survive. A few posters on here seem to say that about everyone we're linked to tbf...Everyone's been watching him since about U-11, think I saw him play for the Dublin League select side about 5 years ago randomly.
I'm not sure if he trialed with Spurs or not, but he's defo been over with Celtic and Citeh.

Slight difference but an important one when looking at their longer term prospects.
If by some miracle we win the Europa and they don’t qualify for CL, would defo be sniffing around Rodgers…They are banking on it to pass PSR not survive, their owner would be pumping in more money if they could. They've shown they are apt at dodgy PSR transfer fees.

Don't think we'll sell Veliz this summer, probably loan him out somewhere he'll play so he can regain a bit of value before we offload him. Very strange he wasn't recalled and reloaned in Jan.With Mason Melia coming in and Veliz probably being sold this summer, when Romero leaves us, we will have no argentinians. First time in a long time. We need to find some argentinians. Whats Federico Redondos son up to? I remember he was an up and coming CDM?
Think he’ll be back to Argentina for peanuts or maybe MLS. That’s his kind of level.Don't think we'll sell Veliz this summer, probably loan him out somewhere he'll play so he can regain a bit of value before we offload him. Very strange he wasn't recalled and reloaned in Jan.
Why a laugh emoji when announcing this signing

I like him a lot, another City youth they have loads playing for other teams. If by some miracle we win the Europa and they don’t qualify for CL, would defo be sniffing around Rodgers…
They can't to the level they need. They should be focusing on upper their revenue if they want to make a dent in the league, not trying to wheel their way around PSR.
Newcastle are starting to understand it, they're looking to build a bigger stadium next to St James' park which will increase their revenue.
Not really sure where his best position is, but now they’ve signed Marmoush and he probably gets less game time 2nd half of the season, should defo keep an eye on him.![]()

Sources also told TBR Football on Thursday that Manchester City rejected £30 million bids for McAtee from several German clubs in particular such as Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Mainz and Stuttgart — which indicates that Ange Postecoglou’s side were not the only side interested in signing the 22-year-old.
Man City snubbed Tottenham’s approach to sign James McAtee
But Manchester City had no interest in selling the Salford-born attacking midfielder as they feared he could become a superstar in the same vein as Cole Palmer.
City rejected Chelsea’s approach to sign Nico O’Reilly for the same reason as they believe the Englishman has a bright future ahead of him.
The Athletic have now revealed that Manchester City informed Tottenham that they had no interest in selling any senior player during the transfer window, including McAtee.
Nottingham Forest were “huge admirers” of McAtee as well but they were told the same by Pep Guardiola’s side. Guardiola has not just publicly but also privately reiterated that McAtee is good enough to play for Manchester City — despite starting just three games in all competitions this season.
Ange Postecoglou indirectly asked Tottenham to sign James McAtee
Postecoglou asked Tottenham to sign a versatile forward and McAtee certainly fits the bill.
While the highly-rated wonderkid is an attacking midfielder by trade, he often played as a right-winger on loan at Sheffield United last season and has even played as a false nine for City.
Furthermore, McAtee seems to have an eye for goal, scoring five for Manchester City this campaign despite starting just three games in total.

Many of us follow England Youth games, McAtee is a podium level talent, easily stands out amongst many others who are quickly rated as £50m+ players like Dibling and Gittens.![]()
