I think we should 100% try for him. He is one of those centerbacks who don't seem remarkable but are constantly 8.5 out of 10. Lots of fans of other clubs didn't get the fuss about Toby Alderweireld who is exactly the kind of defender Guehi reminds me of. He's my 100% pick to replace Romero.
In the air I'd agree.... But most teams now play the short game... It's only your Evertons play the long ball... It's all about playing out from the back and saying a higher line. Guehi has pace, his passing is ok, he's good, see him in England team with Rice in front of him... That good defensive DM Is invaluable.... I swear he's shat we need.... But only if we get 2 of either Gomes, Mainoo or Rodrigo de Paul.... Again... Personal taste
Alderweireld was much better with the ball than Guehi. Those diagonal pings were things of beauty

I didn't draw a comparison in playing style not the point.Just in the way other teams fans under rate them. Most fans I meet think you are crazy when you tell them how highly we rate Alderweireld. That was my substantive comparison.
100%.....but that's like me saying that Blachflower is better than Bissouma.... It's easy to say and Undeniable.... The problem is finding the solution in the modern day

Seen a bit of him on YouTube. Very left footed but can use the right when needed, seems to have a relaxed, calm style with the way he plays and moves. It's possible if he is not performing some fans to perceive him as slow and lazy.

I like the approach we are taking stocking up on top youth talents. I am sure it will pay dividends as long as we can commit to developing them properly- and to be fair we seem to have improved in that area lately.

I would say the smattering of U18 signings toward the end of the window is an acknowledgement of the importance of the PL2 and U18 sides as a pipeline into the first team, and with both teams underperforming this season compared to last (no fault of those teams, PL2 side lost Dorrington and Lankshear, U18 side lost Moore) there is a need to shore up the talent that is coming through our own academy with top prospects from other academies. I think we have taken a leaf out of Chelsea's book but we're actually doing it above board, rather than tapping up the parents lol.
