Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Doherty and Toby aren't the future going forward. Tanganga and Rodon should be given minutes, if they can't stop making mistakes then replace them as well. How will these players improve without minutes, it's not like the other defenders are doing anything to warrant their place in the side.

It was noticeable on Sunday that in the first half he was never on the touchline awaiting a pass but hanging back. This meant no outlet on right hand side. Doherty was brought on to rectify that. Now if he is just going to defend as a full back, he can only play that position against the top teams. Can he jump enough as CB to compete with tall attackers? He played well this time last season but has not moved forward.

Imo you need a full back that is comfortable on the ball and wants to receive it and technically sound. He may not be the tallest but neither was puyol and he was an absolute beast at the back.

How about because he isn't a RB , he's a CB

I'm sure once Aurier is back he'll see like 0 minutes.
Mourinho is stupid , says he's a RB but then says he doesn't attack enough down the right. Make your mind up

Idk his problem is he doesn't really have a set position
For me I'd 100% be looking to loan him out next season , he'll be 22 and now he needs to start playing.
If a Premier league club could GUARANTEE him playing time then you should loan him there. He's quality and needs starts.
 
Wish we could see him more at CB as his limitations as a RB are clear, but that was still a much better performance by a RB in awhile so we likely need to keep him there due to a lack of better options.

Just hope our lack of RB options doesn't derail his development as a CB.
