Ex-Spurs Player Joe Rodon

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Last time I checked this thread I read this:
Rodon is integrating better and better at the Rennes stadium, after a difficult start. He plays every game, and is complementary with our Belgian international defender Theate, who is better in recovery. He seems to like Rennes, and the Breton anthem is musically identical to the Welsh anthem!
Two months later he's on his way back to us! Fucking hell.

It's understandable though. I mean when I see Royal in the team I feel compelled to want a youth player to be given a chance instead.
I trust that a world class manager who sees Royal and his other options every day know what he is doing. In the same way, I trusted Mourinho knew what he was doing in not playing Rodon.

I’m pretty certain that Conté isn’t playing Royal to make a point and he wants to take maximum points from every game.

The infallible coach canard is also a joke, all humans make mistakes have blindspots let personal dislike blind them. I don't 100% trust anyone all the time. Jose is a classic example successful coach though he had been I could see the flaws in how and who he was playing months before it unravelled. But you know he saw the players everyday...so he must know.

Who makes up this nonsense? Shame on those of you who take it as gospel..4th choice yet has started and completed all the games Rennes has had more or less. Joe Rodon - Stats 22/23

Thanks for posting that. Yes all games except last month when league games were played when he had flu/other health issues.

From what Rennes and French media have said, its more about Rennes long term defensive injuries coming back which means that Rodon's place has now come into question, rather than the players form. So it looks as though Rodon can definitely 'hack it' in the French league (in addition to Championship and Wales National Team)

Rodon has been what you'd expect at Rennes. Some strong defensive performances, some sloppy mistakes, and doesn't offer you much if anything in possession. No great amount better or worse than the other defenders at Rennes.

Rodon replaced Omari, injured holder, and Badé, undesirable. He was of service, without however progressing as much as his defense partner, the Belgian Theate. It is above all his weakness in the recovery that penalizes him. The young Wooh has started to compete with him, and Omari returned from injury is the natural starter. Rodon had the playing time to be able to participate in the World Cup, which was his goal. Circumstances therefore mean that Rodon and Rennes probably agree to part ways.

Rennes fans seem quite happy with Rodon since the World Cup.. say he's playing well, composed, using the ball well. Haven't seen him play much recently, will have a look at the weekend in a tough home game vs Jonathan David and Mohamed Bayo of Lille.

If we're not keeping him around I don't think he'll be difficult to sell in the summer if he keeps playing as he is.

Yeah, seems like we'll have him off the books next season. Though we also thought this about Lo Celso when he won the Copa America with Argentina and led Villarreal to a CL semi-final...

Rennes got anyone worth us having a cheeky trade for, mate?

.........I'm just assuming that European clubs will continue to be broke for the foreseeable.

8 points off the top; even RM kept their powder dry this January.
