He is now at a club that doesn't expect to win anything rather than where he had been before as the level of expectation was winning was a must, he has also walked into a club that is a fucking mess with a shifty chairman and in need of a lot of work this will take time.Yet he has won trophies at every single club he has been at. Nonsense to think he's past it or 10 years behind. Is it 10 years since his last trophy? No it isn't. Even at a shite Utd he won 3 trophies.
You think you can judge a manager after half a season? You could but you would be wrong too.I'm not judging him, I'm critiquing him. He can be judged at the end of this season.
We were largely crap under Poch for the last season and a half. The point is both Jose and The Board believed this team was still good enough to win the league and that a change of manager was required to rejuvenate the training sessions, the message and the team as a whole. This being the case then fine make the call, change the manager, in fact, Jose is a good hire because he should be able to quickly turn around the side.
But this team looks like it needs rebuilding, Jose isn't a rebuilder.
I want to see some signs of us playing to an identity, there have been none. We've had a small handful of games where we play a good half of football, but it's not been repeated, are we a pressing side, a possession team, a counter-attacking team? I'm not talking about results, we can lose games and still show signs of an identity emerging. There is zero evidence that we are developing into a side that's trying to play a certain way. Klopp didn't have a great first season but everyone watching them could see a clear identity of how he wanted them to play from the very first game which was against us.
I don't have an agenda, I do think he's past it as a manager though so don't confuse the two. I'd like nothing more for him to prove me wrong.
He has to be fair. He's played Dav more than Poch this season*, gave Sess his chances at both LB and LW (he was decent I mut say), and played Tanganga as well. His style of football is not as decent to watch as Poch's style, but, even Poch's style this season, especially against teams like Shef.Utd and Everton (games which ultimately cost him his job) was dreadful. I did like a thing José said yesterday though, that we can't play yet for 90 minutes with the intensity that we played for the last 20 minutes. Problems are clear and obvious, the players that need replacing or demoting to the bench are clear, and the last 20 minutes yesterday were very promising from my view. We'll see
Football has moved on since Jose's pomp, it's not about going out and spending big on the best players. Jose might improve us, he might not. He might stay long enough to build a team, he might be away sooner than expected. Jose complained about defenders making mistakes then put Alderweireld and Vertongen together and watched them concede the same type of goals three matches in a row, the same goals they conceded earlier in the season when they played together.
And the whole Eriksen situation, what the fuck is going on there? Both managers this season persisting with a player offering nothing because.....
To get two good players in every position, how many will we need to sign? 12? 14?
Mourinho HAS to put faith in youth, it's how teams cope with heavy fixture schedules, it's how teams adapt and go forward. He has to go into games without his favourites and pick what's best for the team. Ultimately that was Poch's downfall, a reliance on 3 or 4 players. Tanganga showed he can step up and take over a position, he should now be a regular starter. Who knows, if he give Skipp or Parrott the same chance, he might get the same result from them.
He won't get money, thus he won't be given the time. One thing I like about Jose is he will build a squad. He wont settle for this Kane can play every game nonsense.
To win trophies you need 2 good players in every position.
That is what we will move to. Its fundamental to his beliefs.
Give the man time and money and we will win trophies.
We'll see

He doesn't need the amount of spending he needed at United. At United, he had to get 9 new players to compete. Here he needs max 3/4. Big difference.

I'm torn on Aurier though. He is an idiot, but, he has a 50/50 chance between being the best player and getting sent off. If we want to compete for the top 4 (which I doubt Mourinho does), Aurier is decent enough, but if we want to compete for titles, Aurier is just a bit too inconsistent to do that. I'd be more than happy to have Aurier as a back-up RB. But yes, for winning titles, 2 FBs and especially a CDM are a must. Quite possibly even a GK (both Hugo and Gazza are good, but Hugo will start to decline while Gazza just lacks that bit to be called a world-class keeper).Exactly. full backs. CM and we can start competing. Provided Tanganga can save us a CB.
If he doesn't walk out, I reckon he will be sacked before the end of next season. Buying young players is all well and good but the expectations of the board are still going to be the same, top 4.He may have to buy younger players. But he will be given more time than he had at Chelsea/Real Madrid.
That seems to be the deal with him and levy.
They have to be 3/4 GOOD players though. Our scouting system is almost none existent add to that top players like Kane and Son can't keep waiting for the club to bring in 3/4 players over 3/4 years. He doesn't need the amount of spending he needed at United. At United, he had to get 9 new players to compete. Here he needs max 3/4. Big difference.
The average time a manager is in a job is 165 days. At the end of the season, he will be almost exactly halfway through the average life expectancy, of course, he should be judged on what he's done on the previous days in office. He might have done a brilliant job by the end of the season, are you saying he should be judged if he's been brilliant and won us the CL, FA Cup and got us 2nd in the league? You think you can judge a manager after half a season? You could but you would be wrong too.
Why do you think Mourinho thought the current team was good enough to challenge for the league? With the form of the team he was walking into it was clear to everyone that was never going to be the case.
You think Mourinho had a hand in the board deciding to remove Poch and replace him? How does that work?
You don't think we played with an identity yesterday? Did you watch the game? We could and most probably should have won the game, certainly should have got a draw.
You think a manager who has won trophies at every team he's managed, including 3 at a shite Utd (his last job) is past it? Nonsense.
You don't have an agenda? Yes.. you clearly do!!
You said- The point is both Jose and The Board believed this team was still good enough to win the league and that a change of manager was required to rejuvenate the training sessions. No, I do not think Mourinho had a hand in Poch being removed, that's absurd, where the hell did you get that from?
You clearly have a inherent dislike of Mourinho.
Yesterday made me believe that Mourinho will do something special with us IF he is backed.
We had a solid game plan which was unlike the shit we served up against united and chelsea. Tanganga basically man marking Mane from a centre back position was a very good idea. Our defensive set up was generally good but couldn't compensate for our struggles in the midfield. His decision to start Eriksen was wrong in hindsight but i get what he was thinking. Eriksen pussying out of 50/50 challenges should see the end of his time here for good now but yes the game plan nearly worked.
Read it again and then again. At no point does that say or even remotely imply that Jose had a hand in Poch being replaced. Where the fuck does it say that? You said- The point is both Jose and The Board believed this team was still good enough to win the league and that a change of manager was required to rejuvenate the training sessions.
You’ve dropped another bollockHow have I dropped a bollock? We were not "peak" at the CL final, we had been on a woeful run all season (apart from CL campaign) you above all people can attest to this.
