Maybe rules have changed but used to have to be registered for first leg to play in the second.

Agree, its always a surprise to me that the PL rule has no minimum age in its definition (see below) so his 3+ years up to the age of 16 when he moved to Germany which qualify him as HG for PL whereas UEFA rule has a minimum age of 15 to start his 3 years at a club affiliated to the FA or FAW, which of course he does not have.
A "Home-Grown Player" means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).

Good signing. Just 6 months late. It's criminal we didn't replace Dier, Sanchez, Hojbjerg and Royal with these type of 20 odd mil, around 25 years old solid players for now. Need at least a couple more. Joelinton type, this team needs some muscle and strength. I'd feel better if our exciting youth having a few tough fuckers behind them to bully opposition.
