The sad thing is that it's starting to really appear as if we're the problem. He's been brilliant for Madrid and (considering that he hasn't played for about ten games) I'm impressed he's also gotten back in to England. Clearly didn't do anything wrong or else he the FA would never have let him out a shirt back on as principle.

In hindsight we should've never let him go and frankly, I would love to hear what he really has to say about the club

I like Tripps. He's a solid 7/10 player and is miles better than Doherty, and far more reliable than Aurier. We desperately need a quality right-back. Even someone like Jonny Otto would be an improvement on what we have. I'd love Ricardo Perreira from Leciester. I think he's top quality.

He wasn’t brilliant for us though - last season was shocking and has now moved onto a defensive team in a weaker league so fair play to him. We we right to move him on and on paper Aurier seemed like a very good replacement.

Anyway - him and Doc are finished now so we need a Reguillon-type replacement else we’re fucked

Good little player. Made the right move for himself.

Somewhat off topic, but has another country ever had such depth at right-back than England have right now?

Kyle Walker
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Reece James
Kieran Trippier
Justin James
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Tariq Lamptey

Crazy!

He went to a club who, just when things were starting to look stale, the higher-ups decided to support it's long-tenured Argentine coach who had already shown he could improve them, with an aggressive squad rebuild whilst moving into a new stadium.

Funny that.
Including the window Trippier joined, they have made a profit of £40m in their transfer business up to now. It may have been an aggressive rebuild, but they were hardly chucking money around that they didn’t have.

Please stop with the ENIC lies for once

18/19 - 110m minus net spend

19/20 - They signed Joao Felix for 120m hottest young prospect in Europe. We signed Gedson Fernandes and FatBerg

Give it a rest please
Was fuck all to do with ENIC.

Last summer, they had a £14m net spend. The summer before, when Trippier joined, as I very fucking clearly stated, they made a £57m profit. So in the time since Trippier joined, they’ve made over £40m in transfer profit.

I didn’t include windows before Trippier joined, becasue I was responding to a post that said he joined a club that had gone stale and was started to be supported. But yes, a year before, they had pumped money in, so he joined after they were going through their rebuild, not before.

To be fair, it does help them that their whole stadium build cost 240m euros. Significantly less than ours.

It was around 300m but also built on an existing old one which helped significantly with cost

Ours was meant to be around 600m before Levy caused numerous delays, NFL dick-sucks and costs ballooned

The how's and the why's are largely irrelevant.
We are saddled with more debt than most clubs in Europe and it is undoubtedly biting our ability to spend.

We are saddled wiht debt because our cunt owner fucked up - how is that irrelevant?

They are very similar to us in the way they are ran yes. The major difference is that they’ve found a manager who appears to have the complete faith of the owners and fans, so they can suffer the odd downturn in fortune without going nuclear. This continuity is what works for them.

On the other hand, well, you only have to spend five minutes on here to see what some of our fans are like. And Levy is no more patient or understanding. It’s his biggest flaw, in my mind, that he just can’t seem to see that constant manager sackings are achieving nothing. If he deserves a bag of oranges to the balls for anything, that’s top of my list.

If we give the next guy the patience and time AM give Simeone, we’ve a much better chance of success, because we can’t buy it like City or Chelsea.
I would be happy if our downturn in fortunes mirrored theirs and our success also . But our downturns are far worse and our success is a joke by comparison. Of course their fans are happy and we are not
