That’s fair enough but many think he’s mid table and have said so on numerous occasions over the season.

One person has said he's Championship level mate.

Granted, Tripps has performed better in the WC than he generally has for us - perhaps because of the system being used, but saying he's championship level is patently absurd.

Seriously praying that injury isn't too bad.

Literally cannot believe I'm the first to post about that freekick either. So disappointed to lose but so delighted to see an English Spurs man get one in a world cup semi final!

Astonishingly good free kick too - even though the wall jumped and the ball went over the two tallest Croatian players and into the net. Without him its a fair chance England would not have got beyond the Group stage - that's how vital his contribution has been

Trippier's set pieces (and chance creation from wing positions) have been a major part of England getting to the semi final, given the lack of creativity in England's midfield, so absolutely right he gets a goal from a set piece.

Apart from his free-kick last night he was poor defensively and got owned by Perisic countless of times including being at fault for both their goals. He's a decent wing back and a poor full back, imv

Agree he was beaten badly in the air all night by Perisic. As for the goals though, I would say the first was down to Walker not attacking the ball and the second at least half-due to Stones’ brain-fart.

He’s a very good wing back and a decent but vulnerable fullback. Very much good enough for our team though.

Stones didn't see him from the blind side - still poor agreed

Shortest player on the pitch beaten at headers in football SHOCKER!!

He has been a revelation for England this tournament, honestly can't say I expected it but he flourished in that position - Southgate definitely deserves some of the credit for that.

Really want to see him taking more corners next season at the least, I understand Eriksen is our dead ball specialist (rightly so) but I think Tripps has proved that he can deliver a more consistent corner.

Love his 1st time volleyed crosses. Another one last night that Harry was unlucky not to get on the end of. Put his head in bravely but Lovren just got there with his foot first.

I think they can mix it up ... bamboozle the opposition. Besides, they take different types of free kicks... last night's was the PERFECT position for Tripps... whereas Eriksen seems to be able to hit them from anywhere...
Tripps' crossing has always been his strength, and his first time crossing is EXCEPTIONAL!

but he is only 3'6" ...I'm just amazed he isn't beaten in the air MORE often!

With Tripps arguably England's player of the tournament, (though Im sure Liverpool fans will hijack any online poll and 'award' it to Henderson) and Kane on track for the Golden Boot...
AND bearing in mind we had an entire 1st team out there (12 in fact)... that's not a bad return on a Spurs investment this WC!

know what you're saying, was still 100% better than Young in every game. Personally felt all they had to do was neutralise the right and we would be screwed. If we had Rose on the left we could have stretched and kept them guessing
