Ex-Spurs Player Kyle Walker

Serie A is very different in terms of its physicals demands - main reason why Evra and now Alves have managed to prolong their careers
This season Serie A has been great to watch, not perfect and still big divisions between clubs but the notion that its defensive, side to side and slow isn't accurate. Juve has been nothing short of fantastic this season and their performances in CL shows a) their quality and b) they play a very attractive high tempo game with Alves pace instrumental in that.

There is no denying that his age will no doubt limit his playing time, mainly driven by recovery time, hence if he's rotated well he can still be a highly effective player IMO

I simply cannot imagine Alves performing to the same standard vs PL defenders, that's all

He tore Monaco to ribbons in the CL Semi-Finals, the same players (FB's) that the top teams are trying to sign. But I imagine he will not be thier number one FB, so him playing fresh and rested against any of the teams bellow 6th or even lower than that, I'd brake out the popcorn, he would rip them to ribbons.

Every time I see this thread has been updated, I have the dread that it's a done deal. I don't want us to sell Walker, and apart from everyone involved in the "deal" saying nothing, I haven't seen anything that should persuade me that he's on his way. Am I missing something, or is this ITK on cheap steroids? It's unsettling, for sure. But is it any more than that?

That's one game vs League 1 defenders - hardly the most objective sample. Point taken - fair enough

I'd agree, but Guardiola is a fucking idiot when it comes to transfers. Hasn't got a clue.

I.e. Hart for Bravo.

The guy puts his ego and "grand philosophy" before transfers.

His ego? Granted he has a football philosophy which he believes in. And has been semi successful to date.

He wanted a goalie he knew could use his feet and sold a goalie who has continuously looked dubious when playing for England.
Watched him train and realised he couldn't work with him so spoke to him with respect and told him the situation.

But yeah guess that's his ego.

Dani Alves is better than Kyle Walker - so it would make sense for Guardiola to go for Alves, who he was worked with successfully before, who will ultimately be alot cheaper, is a lot more experienced and is a winner.

They'll sign Bertrand at left back to fill the English quota that Walker would have done and they'll move on from there. Walker stays at Spurs and will be as committed as he's ever been.
Odds that the disagree here is ArcspacE ArcspacE
What a numpty

I think Walker was never for sale...and I think the papers invented City's interest.

If ever there was one quoteless, no evidence "transfer saga", this was it.

A non story from the off.
