Oh. So changing the goalposts from how much to how spent.

Cool. I can do that.

So how did that go, then? Including the value of the two managers sacked?

Who exactly has the final say on players bought and sold, along with on managers hired and sacked?

Changing the goalposts? the topic is Levy/Enic not who sacked which managers and why?

The point under discussion was how much money needs to be spent on players, and the answer seems to be "how long is a piece of string" ... three years ago we spent nothing and reached the CL Final - last two years we've spent 200m and won't even qualify for the CL.

The point being made was that it's not just the money but how it's spent. So no you're not really being very "cool" just deflecting.

You say we've invested net 181m in 2 years, but the year before that we spent nothing and made record profits. I'm pretty sure no one at ENIC is going without their beluga caviar in 2021. And Levy had to give his new pet some money to spend.

Meanwhile, ManUre fans are throwing flares at the stadium because their owners only spent £90m on Pogba, £85m on Maguire, £80m on Lukaku, £67m on Di Maria, £54m on Martial £53m on Fred, £50m on Obi Wan Kenobi, etc, etc, etc.
That's not even including their and other players wages we typically won't get near.
Again what's your point?

Spending nothing was a catastrophic mistake - nobody on the entire site would disagree.

Spending 181m in the last two years was great in principle, but it hasn't yielded great results on the pitch.

Who gives a flying fuck about the tossers at Man Utd? We don't have their income no other club on the planet does, it's like asking why Haas can't beat Mercedes - it's all about the money.

If you want to see Man Utd level transfers then you need to be a Country an Oligarch or a Man Utd fan.

My point is we're happy with barely any investment in the single most important part of the club, while they're burning the place down despite heavy investment that has yielded results. They may or may not need to paint the roof at Old Trafford and fit some 21st century training gear, but they're comfortably 2nd in the league, almost certainly about to win another cup, will be back on the CL next season...

Why are we so happy and they so angry?

Because their owners have taken £1 billion out of the club since taking it over.

Maybe because they are entitled cunts and most of us are not? ... after a lifetime supporting Spurs every tilt at glory is appreciated ... even when aiming high we fail.

Utd fans just expect their bottomless piggy bank to produce annual trophies ... if that's what you want then sadly Spurs will probably always let you down.

In the last 30 years we've averaged 8th in the UK ... Utd have averaged 2nd the best of any side.

We are happy because we're doing better - they are pissed because they are not.

Why throw up something everybody knows was a catastrophic mistake three years ago, nobody at all is saying spend nothing .... so what exactly was your point?
It's refreshing to see you at least acknowledge it was a catastrophic mistake.

Unlike some who claim the disgraceful cop out was down to Poch demanding unrealistic targets.
Even though they agree Jack Grealish, for instance was a very realistic target that Levy fucked up by insulting the player and the selling club with derisory offers.

Let's go back to when Poch arrived, which I think is a fair sample.

About £600m spent on players, and that includes the no spend windows.

Problem is a lot of it was spent on shite.
Levy said himself we could have spent more on players that may have resulted in greater success on the pitch.
He also said he preffered to spend money on the infrastructure connected to the club.
He also said the new stadium will not bring about any change in his transfer policy.

To Dare is to Do

Fucking lying cunt that bloke - wow

I remember the lies - wait till we have 60k fans so we can compete with the Big 4

All they've done is steal from the club and thrown us into 1 billion debt to finance the infrastructure which of course grows our assets and their dividends by extension - absolute bottom feeders

Because their owners have taken £1 billion out of the club since taking it over.

But they have won trophies, signed top players, sit at the upper echelons of the league and still generate more money than most clubs.
They're not doing a Leeds. Are fans of the club fans of the team on the pitch that wins games and has big players or are they fans of the board and how the club is run?
It's football, follow the team.

They are and I don't dispute that

But we are FAR too content.

If you can't see why they're upset with the owners for taking £1 BILLION out of the club and into they're own pockets then I don't know what to say.

Maybe, just maybe, they would like owners who aren't ripping the club off, regardless of how many players they sign or how many trophies they win.

All true but not what we were discussing.

Do you think we should have a better squad than we do after spending £600m in 6 years.

Maybe some supporters don’t think ENIC are walking all over the club. So are therefore ok with what’s happening. Doesn’t make anyone unambitious.

Well these supporters you speak of must be completely fucking blind then.

It was only a few weeks ago that ENIC tried to pull the club into the ESL without even considering the supporters and people think they actually give a shit about us?

They are clearly walking all over the club, we have had numerous opportunities to invest at key moments where we could have pushed on and won a trophy and instead they went two fucking windows without spending a penny.

I mean, literally do people really believe they are going to reinvest funds from the stadium into the football team? Do you really believe they give a shit about trophies? The supporters? The club?

They view this club as a device to make them money, nothing more nothing less, the sooner people start to understand that the sooner they will stop laying down and letting them walk all over us.

But that's not going to happen because the people who defend ENIC are just simply too cowardly to ever have the guts to demand more for the football club, too afraid to even start to imagine a future without the don Levy running the show.

It was a bad mistake to target Grealish without a back up plan as whilst a deal had been agreed with old owners the new owners gambled that keeping Grealish could (and did) allow them to get back to PL - worth £200m to them versus the transfer value of Grealish. So 20/20 hindsight perhaps, but transfer always doomed to fail - widely reported in Birmingham local papers

Unfortunate to target Frenkie de Jong as he wanted Barcelona - an interview in which de Jong says he turned down Spurs to wait for Barclena has been posted before.

Just like your 'Not one brick' line of a few years when you claimed the stadium would never be built, you are deliberately making things up to suit your agenda

They literally just did - 180m on new players when that 180m could have paid down debt, or been given as dividends to the shareholders.
